I Make 10,000 Naira Daily from Picking Pockets - Suspect

A 22-year-old man, Terry Umuokoro, who makes a living as a pickpocket, has been arrested by the Apapa Police Division.
Also in custody are five others, suspected to have taken part in a robbery operation at Senator Muse Road, Apapa in June 2013.
Umuokoro was arrested last week at a hotel along Ojo Road, Ajegunle, Lagos. He had allegedly resided at the hotel for two months.
But the suspect denied being part of any robbery operation. Umukoro explained that he was a pickpocket.
He said, "I pick pockets for a living, I am not a robber. I started in January 2013 because I had no job after completing my secondary school education."
Explaining how he operates, the suspects said he usually armed himself with a school bag to create the appearance of a university undergraduate.
He said he would then board as many commercial buses as possible, where he would pick the pockets of unsuspecting passengers. His loot included money and phones.

He said, "I only steal Nokia phones because you can sell them easily. I steal about three phones daily and have a buyer at Boundary bus stop in Ajegunle. I give him the phones and get paid in return. I make about N10,000 daily."
Due to the success of his trade, Umuokoro allegedly moved out of his family home to the hotel at Ojo road where a room goes at a rate of N5, 000 daily.

The other suspects, Desmond Ozore, Solomon Mibien, Nelson Mbabie, Jamiu Adigun and Akeem Apejoye, were initially arrested at the same hotel by the Victoria Garden City Police Post after a Blackberry Bold 5 which was stolen from a resident at Senator Muse road, was found with Ozore’s girlfriend.
On June 4 2013, two buildings were robbed on Senator Muse Road and valuables such as BlackBerry phones, laptops and money were allegedly taken by the armed robbers.
One of the stolen phones was traced to Ozore’s girlfriend who claimed that he had given her the phone.
Ozore said, "I am not a robber, none of my friends are. We are all into internet fraud. We stayed in the hotel because we need uninterrupted electricity.
"I bought the phone for N26,000 from Mibien. I never knew it was stolen."
Mibien denied being part of the robbery gang and claimed he also bought the phone from another friend who is currently at large.
There was no response from the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ngozi Braide. She did not respond to calls or text messages to her phone.

Word For Today: Your Indwelling Teacher

Your Indwelling Teacher · Friday, July 5th ·

Pastor Chris

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).
Pastor Chris
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, and He knows all the deep things of God. Jesus said, He (the Holy Spirit) would take of that which belongs to Him (Jesus) and unveil them to you (John 16:15). He’ll guide you into ALL truth, and teach you ALL things, for He’s your indwelling teacher.

Sadly, many haven’t taken advantage of this awesome ministry of the Holy Spirit, because, perhaps, they’ve never been adequately taught. The Holy Spirit can enlighten you about your business, science, chemistry, mathematics, metallurgy, etc.! He can teach you things about everyday life, as well as heavenly things. He loves us and is interested in our success.

It’s not in the nature or character of a Christian to fail in life; because having received the Holy Spirit, you have an indwelling teacher, who knows how to make you a success and cause the work of your hands to prosper. In Isaiah 48:17, He said "…I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go." O, how wonderful this is! The Holy Spirit can teach you how to live in righteousness and prosperity, and guide you in the path of God’s destiny and perfect will for your life!

Welcome and encourage the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life! You can ask and receive guidance in any situation as you require. That He lives in you means you have access to all the wisdom of God, for He is the Spirit of Wisdom. This means you can function in His wisdom when you face challenging situations or seem to be at a crossroads. One of the surest ways to activate His power and wisdom in you is through speaking in tongues. As you speak in tongues, your spirit is sensitized to receive the wisdom you require to handle different issues and deal excellently in all your affairs.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for granting me wisdom by the Spirit and through the Word. I deal excellently in all my affairs today, walking in your perfect will and guided in the path of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

BRUTALIZED FOR REFUSING SEX

• How my landlord, brother molested me

At 37, Princess Izuchukwu Ajuobi, is a beautiful woman by all standards. Her beauty is such that attracts the attention of men, despite the fact that she’s a mother of two.
However, this beautiful woman is disabled in one leg and one hand. She was born with the deformity. Although Ajuobi is not bothered about her deformity, there’s one thing that takes away her happiness. It’s the fact that people take advantage of her condition to molest her. One of such experiences is her raw deal with her landlord and his brother. She was molested and beaten blue and black. Her offence? She refused to have sex with the two men involved.

Narrating her ordeal to Daily Sun, Ajuobi said: "I had vowed to remain a virgin till the day I would marry, until a man strolled into my life, swearing by his life that I was the angel he was looking for. I fell for his tricks and he deflowered me in the name of marriage,  only for him to throw me out,  after having two boys for him. I decided to move ahead with  life.
As a single mother living with children, every one wants to have sex with me. It happens to all women. Even when you decline they will start looking for a way to harm you. It is worst when you are disabled, like me and you cannot fight for yourself.
Men take advantage of your condition to do you wrong. That was my situation.

On what happened in her case, she stated:
"In April, 2011, I packed into an apartment I paid for in April, 2011. Three months after I moved in, my landlord’s brother, Uwahamaka, started approaching me for sex.
My landlord, who hails from Umuokpuru, Afarata, Ibeku, also made advances to me. Both of them  would come at night or at odd hours during the day to knock at my door, asking me to open. They would boldly tell me that they wanted to sleep with me. "When my landlord’s brother is not around,  my landlord would tell me not mind him, stating that he was not responsible.

The landlord would say that he was the one that would treat me well, asking me to befriend him. I looked at myself and said, is it because I am in this condition that a man, who is old enough to be my grand father, would be angling to sleep with me? My landlord is over 60 years.
It is as a result of my refusing him and his brother sex that is makes them angry.

On harassment The women stated: "My landlord would come knocking on my door, asking me to open for him, for us to have sex. I would always tell him that I don’t want to do anything with him. They want to make me a sex toy. My refusal infuriated them both  and they vowed to deal with me.
That was the beginning of my problem.  One day, I was cooking for my children and Uwahamaka came and started abusing me, calling me names, for no reason. I refused to talk back at him. He accused me of splashing water on his door and started breaking my rubber containers.
Before I could do anything, he threw away the rice I was cooking. "He came after me with chain and cutlass, threatening to cut off my remaining leg. He started beating me, to the point of attempting to push me into the fire. He did hit my artificial leg with chain causing it to break. I crashed to the ground like a bag of sand, having lost control of my supporting leg."

Ajuobi stated that she made a report to the police, leading to the arrest of the man. "The police arrested him, after which they mandated him to buy my artificial leg. He told the police  that he would not pay, that the matter should be charged to court. It was after this that  they started maltreating me in their yard. They started   closing the gate at 7 p. m., just to frustrate me. My landlord said that if I don’t pack out of his house, he would make me blind and nothing will happen since his kinsman from Ibeku is the governor.
He  gave me quit notice, even when my rent is still running. "I traveled to my  village in Ikwuano to stay because they were always coming to my room to attack me. They usually beat me up and flog me mercilessly.  One day,  I told my brother how they were maltreating me and he went to them to ask them why. They threatened to deal with him. I have found an accommodation, but I have no money to pay. Now, they have driven me out of their house, while my rent has not expired.

"On April 16, I came back from the village, with one of my uncles, who was to travel to Lagos the following day. They started to molest me, as usual and eventually  hit me with a stone  on the hand that was deformed. We got to the house around 8.30 pm and they blocked my door, insisting that my uncle would not enter.
They accused me of bringing my boyfriend and said I he would not sleep there. I must say that whenever any male visitor comes to my house, they would get angry.

The vicious attack
"When later I opened my door and entered, his daughter in-law, Ngozi, entered my room and started slapping me, in the presence of my uncle, just to cause a fight.
My uncle asked her to stop, but she refused and then my landlord came into the room and asked my uncle who he was. My uncle told him that he was my brother and my landlord ordered him to leave and the time was about midnight. They putt off the lights and also beat my uncle. They pursued him out and closed the gate on him around midnight. They attacked me thereafter and I passed out. “They took away my bag containing N200,000, which I was given at the village  to pay for a house.
When I regained consciousness, Uwahamaka again hit me with a stick. I passed out again, only to regain later. When I regained consciousness, I started shouting for help, but there was nobody to help me because they had closed the gate. In the morning, I took my kids to the police station and reported the matter a second time. "The police did nothing. I don’t know if they had thrown my things away. I am now homeless, hanging from place to place with my children.
That is my predicament. I want the world to know. They say that there is nothing I can do to them. I am calling on the relevant authorities to come to my aid. I am a graduate of Accountancy and I need job to take care of my children, any type of job. Sometimes I feel that life has not been fair to me. This has even affected my children’s schooling because we don’t have a place of my own. I don’t have any money to hire a lawyer and they know this."

In their statements of defence at the police Area Command, Umuahia, the landlord and his brother alleged that Ajuobi scaled the fence into their compound at an odd hour with her uncle and children, causing them to confront them.
However, a police source that pleaded anonymity told Daily Sun  that the investigation they conducted revealed that  Ajuobi could not have scaled any fence with her bad leg and hand, as alleged. A medical report from Federal Medical Center, Umuahia, where Ajuobi was treated confirmed that she sustained injuries as a result of beatings she received.

Shocking! Police Recover 20 Skulls, Decomposing Bodies at a Dump Site in Aba, Abia State

Culled from sunnewsonline

A dumpsite has been discovered near Aba, Abia State, where over 20 human skulls and decomposing bodies, including those of school children were found. The site, which was a horror to behold was located, at about kilometre 15 on the Aba/Azumini Highway at an area called "No man’s land" after Akpaa village in Obingwa Local Government of the state.

The discovery followed the arrest of four policemen attached to the Federal Highway Patrol unit of the Nigeria Police, Aba Section, who allegedly killed a 26-year-old man in Aba.
The policemen led by their officer-in-charge, Hyginus Omeze, who were ordered to be detained by the Area Commander for Aba, Rabiu Dayi were alleged to have murdered one Onyekachi Chukwu, 26 and dumped his body at the site.

Daily Sun gathered that on Sunday June 23 Onyekachi, who hailed from Ahaba Imenyi in Isuikwuato Local Government and lived at No. 47 Ukaegbu Road, went out with his friends to drink at a hotel located on Ekenna Avenue. After spending the day, Onyekachi was said to have decided to pass the night in the house of one of his friends residing also in Ogbor hill.

According to a source, as he made to knock at the gate, the policemen came from nowhere and after beating him, got him arrested. The cops, who were said to have refused all pleas by people residing in the neighbourhood, arrested Onyekachi together with the gate man of the friend’s house and the caretaker and took them to a hotel on Opobo Road, Ogbor hill, which also served as their base.

On getting to the hotel, Daily Sun learnt the policemen left the other two men behind in the hotel and took Onyekachi out in their Toyota Prado SUV and drove towards Azumini. After about one hour, the policemen were said to have come back to the hotel without the young man.

On getting back to the hotel, the policemen took the men they earlier left behind and took them back to where they were earlier arrested and ordered the occupants of the house to wash their vehicle and contribute money for them to replace the bullets, which they claimed they had wasted and the people complied without knowing what the policemen did.

The bubble, however, busted when the relations of Onyekachi, after days of searching for him without success made formal complaint to the police, who swung into action immediately and traced their colleagues, who allegedly committed the dastardly acts to the hotel, where four of them were arrested.

According to Uchechi Chukwu, an elder brother to the deceased, who believed the young man was killed for rituals, going by the way his body was dismembered; it was through the effort of the area commander that the policemen were arrested.

Then the arrested policemen, who were said to have admitted to the crime, took their colleagues to the borrow-pit along the Aba/Azumini Highway, where they dumped the dismembered body of Onyekachi. When Daily Sun visited the borrow-pit at "no man’s land," where Onyekachi’s body was buried in a shallow grave, the site was a horror to behold, as several human skulls and decomposing bodies, including that of school children, were found.

Also found in the place included a piece of iron zinc which surroundings were splattered with blood and believed to been where Onyekachi was slaughtered and his vital organs removed, according to his relations.

There was equally a human organ believed to be a bladder left on the ground, where the slain man’s body was found and also hand gloves believed to have been worn by those who murdered the man. When contacted on phone, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abia Command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, while confirming the incident, denied that the young man was killed for ritual purposes.

We Disguise As Beggars To Abduct Our Victims – Kidnap Suspects

The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a kidnappers den in Ajah area of Lagos, killing a suspected leader of the syndicate during a shoot-out, while three other members were arrested.
Rescued at the end of the gun duel were two staff of Epe Local Government Area, Samsudeen Olatunde, 37 and  Daramola Muideen Bisoye,  43.

They were abducted a week ago on Abraham Adesanya Street, along Lekki/Epe expressway when they stopped to answer the call of nature.
The suspects who usually disguised as beggars, disclosed that their targets were men who usually parked exotic cars to ease themselves around Ajah and other high brow areas of Lagos.

The operation
The seven-man syndicate said to have been on the wanted list of the Area ‘J’ Command, Elemoro, for about a year, reportedly met their waterloo following intelligence report from the area command, consequent upon which a joint team of operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja and men of the Area ‘J’ Command led by the Area Commander, Mr Felix Vwamhi, reportedly stormed the kidnappers’ den, an uncompleted building located in an area popularly known  as General Paint in  Alasia, Ajah.

Sighting the policemen, the kidnappers reportedly opened fire that triggered a gun duel.Police sources said: "During  the hot exchange of fire, two members of the gang, one of them later discovered to be the gang leader, identified simply as  Akpos and his second in command, Michael Chinedu Edom, were fatally wounded.
"They were arrested while five others escaped with minor bullet wounds and one of the  guns used by Akpos was recovered including 20 live cartridges."Efforts to revive Akpos to enable police use him to get the fleeing gang members failed but "Michael survived and was used to track down two other  members, Emmanuel Omoseni and Emeka Agbaji, who have made confessional statements.

Our targets - Suspect
One of the suspects, Emeka Agbaji, 31, who hails from Ekuoma village in Ika East Local Government Area of Delta State disclosed: "That fateful day at about 8pm along Epe Expressway, we saw two persons who parked their Toyota Yaris saloon car by the roadside and went to urinate.
"One of our gang members who disguised as a beggar approached the driver when he wanted to board the car and begged him to assist him with some money to eat. Out of sympathy the driver gave him N100 and he prostrated in gratitude."But, as the driver wanted to enter his car, the supposed beggar  held on to the car door and started dragging the door with him. The occupants were confused and before they knew it, other members including myself came out of hiding with locally made short guns and pushed the driver and the passenger inside the back seat of the car.
"One of us took over the steering wheel and we drove straight to our camp at General Paint area.“We did not torture the victims. We had not even started calling their families or the Epe local government council where we learnt they were working  when, all of a sudden, the police stormed the uncompleted building and rescued them."

Agbaji who said he was lured into kidnapping by the late Akpos confessed that he was once a robber."But at a point, I decided not to steal again.  I was tempted to join because Akpos advised me  to be saving one tenth of any money I got through kidnap for court case, saying kidnap was a bailable offence and that he had formidable hands in the boys he recruited from Delta State.
This is my first time of joining them and I was promised N500,000 at the end of the day," he said.

I intended travelling with my share  —Another suspect
For Michael Chinedu Edom, 25,  a native of Isiekenesi village in Ideato South Local Government Area of  Imo State: "I was also lured by late Akpos, with a promise of more than N2 million when we receive the ransom."We were told that each of the victims’ families would be made to pay N7 million. At least I knew I would have got over N2 million with which I intended to travel out of Nigeria."I joined out of frustration because all the menial jobs I  ventured into fetched me nothing.

"First, I started as a conductor and got only N1,000 at the end of each day which was not enough to fend for myself, let alone my wife and baby who live with a family friend."I was  squatting with friends  in an uncompleted building because I could not afford to pay the rent around Ajah."My role in this was to provide a hideout for the gang. I was promised N10,000 per day. I was not there when they did the job.

I was  in a restaurant all through but was forced to run out  during the gun duel. In my attempt to escape, one of the arrested persons sighted me and revealed my identity to the police."

We are only kidnappers not robbers — Third suspect
The third suspect who identified himself as Emmanuel Omoseni, 33, from Zion People village in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, claimed to be a teacher in a private school in the area. Omoseni said he was tempted to provide the gang a hiding place after being promised N100,000."As at then, I had not been paid two months salary. Even the two months salary was not up to the N100,000 promised.  My only regret is that I ended up not getting a dime."

We lost 14 Members, 33 Million Naira in two attacks – Bodija Traders

Traders in Bodija market, Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria, yesterday counted their losses in attacks by unknown gunmen (suspected to be Boko Haram members) which left 10 of their colleagues dead.
While speaking on the sad incident at Bodija Market, Public Relations Officer  of the market, Mr.  Emiola Akeem, said they had lost a total of 14 members and more than N33 million in the two attacks.

He  said: "On May 5, this year, four of our members were murdered in cold blood and N11 million was stolen from them, in the North. This time again, after killing them, they stole N22 million we contributed to buy beans and fish.
In the Meantime, even as business activities resumed generally at the popular market, the section for beans sellers was deserted with all the shops locked up. The traders who managed to come only gathered in clusters discussing the sad incident.

One of the traders, Mrs. Bola Lawal, said the action was just to sympathise with their dead colleagues. She
said: "We closed our shops just to mourn our dead colleagues. Look at their shops there. They were very nice and hard-working young men. See what these evil people have done now?
Emiola said he had prevailed on some angry youths who wanted to attack our Hausa colleagues, adding: "We cannot protest in Oyo State. The state government did not do any evil to us. It would be unfair if we now go to  the secretariat to protest. It is not the state government that failed,  it is the Federal Government.
According to him, his members would never go to the North again to buy goods. He  said the relatives of the slain traders in the first attack were even fighting them asking why they allowed their people to travel to North when they knew the place was not safe. Vanguard  gathered that of the 10 men killed in the latest attack, only nine corpses were brought as the 10th body was said to have been dismembered through several machete cuts. The image maker said a special prayer would be held in honour of the deceased soon.

Big Brother Africa Update: Hakeem Proposes to Cleo Right in the House!(Photos,Video)

Love indeed is a beautiful thing!

Just as the Diamonds were sitting at dinner last night, Hakeem decided to propose to Cleo in an amazing way.

The question on everyone’s lips now is, was that a real proposal or was it part of the Wedding Task?

In Hakeem’s words:

This is coming from the bottom of my heart,
You changed my life you really did,
At some point I lost my voice and you gave it back to me,
I lost my sight and you gave that back to me,

My heart was broken up in two and you brought it back together,
I know a lot of people have questions right now; where is this going to lead to?
But if I could explain it, I wouldn’t know the exact words but I would say that my love for you goes out of this House, out of this country, out of this world and out of the galaxy to infinity times infinity

And I know that time can never be enough and words can never say enough but in this moment tonight, I hope that this ring will say more than enough.

So, Cleo Clementina Mulenga Mai Kamela, with this ring I’m holding in my hand this is a promise between you and me so I’m going to ask you, Would you, in the future, out of this House, want to marry me?

Cleo said: Yes, yes, yes of course!

Question is: Was this a real proposal???

Tension in Delta State as Ijaw youths kill 4 Itsekiri

At  least three youths and an elderly man were, on Tuesday, shot dead at Ajamita community in Warri North council area of Delta State, while about 34 houses were burnt down at Gbokoda, Ajamita and Udo riverine
communities off the Atlantic Ocean by armed Ijaw youths in an early morning attack.

The armed youths were said to have invaded the three communities at 5.00a.m., shooting sporadically with indigenes running into nearby bush for safety. The corpses of the three dead youths are currently at a private morgue in Sapele, while the elderly man was said to have been buried at his community.

President of Itsekiri Development Association, IDA, and member of Delta State Waterways Security Committee, Mr. Omolubi Newuwumi, told Vanguard on phone that the perpetrators were the same Ijaw youths from Egbema that recently sparked off crisis by hijacking and kidnapping some boats and persons travelling to various communities along the Benin River axis of Warri. He said their mission was to ignite another round of Itsekiri/Ijaw fratricidal war from which they intend to make enormous financial gains as in the recent past. He said they do not enjoy the support of well meaning Ijaw leaders and youths of Egbema kingdom, who cherish the peaceful co-existence now in place.

Chairman, Warri Study Group, WSG, and Secretary to the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, Mr. Edward Ekpoko has, however, called on the Federal and state  governments, and all security agencies to investigate the killings and unwarranted burning of houses by the attackers with a view to bringing them to book to serve as deterrent to others with similar evil intentions. He maintained that the quick apprehension of the culprits would douse the tension and prevent any retaliatory measure, saying that any war at this time in the Itsekiri/Ijaw relations would not benefit both ethnic nationalities in anyway. Ijaw elder statesman and Egbema leader, Chief Emma Ebimami condemned the attacks and the killings, arguing that as a result of the leadership tussle in Itsekiri communities, some aggrieved Itsekiri youths could have invited the Ijaw youths to come to their assistance.

He stressed the need to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.
Meanwhile, Mr. Omolubi said the Commanding Officer of the Joint Task Force, JTF, codenamed Operation Pulo Shield, has since relocated to the troubled areas to ascertain the level of carnage, saying that they are working round the clock to apprehend the assailants.
He charged Itsekiri youths to exercise patience.

Nigerian Customs Officials Kill 30yr Old Car Dealer, Without Cause

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigations into the murder of a 30-year-old car dealer, Uririnke Onojorhoevwo, who was allegedly killed by officials of the Nigerian Customs Service in Iyana Ipaja area of the state.
According to the police, the Delta State indigene was shot to death on June 16, 2013, after being pursued by customs men attached to the Federal Operation Unit.
Some policemen attached to Gowon Police Division, who witnessed the incident, said after the killing, the customs men fled.
A policeman, who craved anonymity, said,
"On June 16, around 5am, we saw customs men in a Toyota Hilux van with registration number, CS307A01, chasing a white unregistered Audi Station wagon. The customs men shot the tyre of the vehicle and also shot its driver.
"The driver, who was bleeding profusely, came out of the vehicle and attempted to run. One of the customs men alighted from the Hilux, moved close to the car dealer, and shot him again. They did not touch the corpse but entered into their vehicle and fled immediately."

The police source told PUNCH Metro that policemen later recovered the corpse and took it to the station.
When asked if the deceased was a smuggler, the policeman said there was no evidence to prove that he was.
He said, "After the killing, we began preliminary investigation. We thought he was a smuggler but we decided to search the vehicle. We discovered that all the relevant documents were intact including the customs duty.
"We also deduced that the deceased was driving from Idi-Iroko border and was heading towards Lagos."
Our correspondent learnt that the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, for further investigation.
A source at the Homicide Department at the SCID, told our correspondent that all attempts to get information from the NCS proved abortive as it did not respond to a letter written to it.
The source said, "We wrote a letter to customs two weeks ago. We even made telephone calls to their administration department, but they have not been forthcoming."

The elder brother of the deceased, Bakapo Onojorhoevwo, told PUNCH Metro that the deceased sold vehicles for a living.
He said the deceased was based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and was probably heading towards there when he was killed.
He said he was pained that his brother was not married and had no children. He said the family would like to know what transpired.
He said, "Around 7.30am on that very day, I called my brother’s telephone but a policeman picked it up and told me that my brother was involved in an accident and I should come to Mainland Medical Centre, Yaba. I went there with my younger sister and we were told that my brother had been killed by customs men.
"His corpse is still there and we are waiting for autopsy. My brother has been dealing in cars for the past four years. We do not know what actually happened so we want the customs to explain to us."
When contacted on the telephone, Public Relations Officer, Federal Operations Unit, Zone A of the NCS, Mr. Uche Ejesieme, said investigations were ongoing.
A text message he sent to our correspondent read, "We are on top of the situation. Necessary and appropriate steps will be taken in due course.

See the Gay Pastor Who Allegedly Raped 20-year old Male Church Member (Photo)

Culled from Vanguard

The Edo State Police Command, yesterday, paraded 26 suspected criminals including a pastor identified as Philips Ogbebor, alleged to have had carnal knowledge of a 20-year-old male member of his church (names withheld).
After the act, the pastor allegedly threatened to kill his victim if he disclosed the act to the public.
While speaking to us, Pastor Ogbebor simply said: "God will judge, go and talk to others" and kept on mumbling.

But his victim narrated his ordeal: "I told him I have never done this since I grew up, but he insisted. It was painful and I told him I will not allow it again. So after the second attempt, I told him I will expose the act. He then administered an oath on me, saying if I ever told any one, I will die.
"He carried sand and olive oil and poured them on my head, then he wore black garment, saying I will die if I ever leaked the secret. He killed a black fowl and gave me the liver and gizzard to eat at about 2 a.m., threatening that if I ever said it out, I will die like the fowl.
"But when I realised that it is a sin, I met a man of God to pray for me that God should forgive me and that I am ready to expose it since he forced me. There after I went to the church and told the congregation about the act. When he heard it, he threatened me by sending his younger brother and members of his gang after me. Since then I have been running."

In related news,
The state Police Commissioner, Folusho Adebanjo, explained that among the suspects, there were two suspected cultists believed to have participated in the recent rival cult clash in the state and seven suspected pipeline vandals and operators of illegal refineries.
Others were two suspected robbers, from whom a Toyota Camry car they stole at gunpoint in Kaduna State was recovered; a suspect who was alleged to have demanded N20 million ransom from one Joseph with death threats and three others whom the police boss said were in possession of firearms without licence were also paraded.
There was also an alleged case of rape against two suspects who were said to have dragged a 20-year-old female victim into the bush.
Also paraded were five persons including a middle aged woman all from Ojah, Akoko-Edo Local Government council accused of burning to death, one Funmi Abiodun on allegation of being a witch responsible for the death of a relation.

According to him, "the war against criminality is relentlessly being waged against men of the underworld. The command is not leaving any stone unturned regarding crime and criminality in Edo State.
"This man who claimed to be a pastor defiled a young person. Another thing that is so common here and I don’t know why this defilement issue is so prevalent.
"I wonder if there is something about it. You see very old men defiling young girls who are five years, two years, and so on. We are not going to tolerate this and cases of rape are also increasing too but we will go all out to make sure that they are convicted."

Photos: Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi Escapes Death

The  Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi today miraculously escaped unhurt as a suspicious vehicle rammed into his convoy along Igwuruta road on the Governor’s way to the Port Harcourt International Airport.

According to an eyewitness account, the accident was caused by the intrusion of a Toyota Avensis with registration number AAA 767 AQ that rammed into the Governor’s convoy from the opposite side of the dual carriageway, just after the C4I Security Post along the Port Harcourt International Airport Road.
The witness said security and protocol personnel riding in the vehicle involved in the accident were shocked and were advised to play safe by seeking medical attention immediately.
He said: "The governor’s convoy was coming from the airport when this Toyota car lost control and swerved from the opposite side and before we knew it, hit one of the vehicles in the governor’s convoy.
"Because of the political crisis in the state, a lot of people initially thought that the governor’s convoy was being attacked."
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, David Iyofor, who confirmed the accident last night said that the car involved in the accident was the security vehicle of the governor’s Chief of Staff, COS, Sir Tony Okocha.

Fortunately, no life was lost and the driver of the vehicle was apprehended and handed over to the police.

See another damaged car from the accident scene:

Rivers State in the past 3 months have been in the news as political bigwigs in the state outwit themselves in a bid to wrest political power and control the political landscape of the oil rich state. Events reached their climax recently when the Rivers State Police Commissioner,  Joseph Mbu openly lambasted the Governor whom he described as a Dictator.

The governor earlier in the day was reported to have demanded the redeployment of the Commissioner of Police whom many believe has pitched  tent with Abuja-based politicians who are the governor’s political adversaries. The Police high command, in the meantime has however denied  knowledge of any affray between Governor Amaechi and the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu.

A Must Watch: Yvonne Nelson on The Juice; Speaks On Relationship With Iyanya and Lots More

Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Yvonne Nelson! I Like your everything!!
In this video, beautiful Ghanaian actress Yvonne talks on her acting career, movies she produced, and of course, relationships with Nigerian musicians, especially Iyanya.
Watch below:

I could tell she was really really into Iyanya! Jeez, she was really blunt about everything!
She just said it like it was.
Although there might have been some other stuff she left out, I believe all she said! Of course, she can't wash 'all' dirty laundry in public!

I also totally agree with what she said on letting everyone know who you are dating, as a celebrity.
Seriously!
For example, if you watched the 2013 BET Awards, you could see the likes of Miguel, Dwayne Wade, and others, express love for those they in a relationship with, when they were called on to receive their awards.
You don't hide love! You flaunt it! If it's to be hidden, it isn't love!

Celebrities who don't go public with their relationship, have skeletons in their cupboard! Simple!

She talked about his birthday and how that when she arrived, she saw that there were other 'gals' too, some even from other countries.  Gals as in girlfriends, not 'friends'. Yeah... I believed that too cos I watched the video of his birthday and I saw the expression on his face when Yvonne arrived!

I'm really not one to judge though, so I wouldn't say Iyanya f****d up, or Yvonne did...
but one thing I know for sure is relationships don't always go according to plan.
Sometimes, it just doesn't work, no matter how hard you try!
Of course, we shouldn't force it! Just let it go already!

PS: Yvonne Nelson and John Dumelo should just 'hook-up' already! They look so beautiful together #myopinion

Big Brother Africa Ex-Housemate 'Betty' to be Sued for Having Sex in the House

If you've been following Big Brother Africa #The Chase closely, then you'll remember that I wrote about Betty and Bolt having sex in Big Brother's house
Unfortunately, her very recent past is already coming back to haunt the pretty Ethiopian, barely a fortnight after she was evicted!

An Ethiopian website, Awramba Times, is reporting that a group of lawyers in Addis Ababa has finalized its plans to sue Big Brother Africa’s 2013 contestant, Betty Abera for "having sex in public." According to a local radio show, Ethiopikalink, if convicted, the young teacher could potentially face up to six years behind bars.

Betty and the recently evicted Sierra Leon Bolt became the first couple to have sex in this year's Big Brother Africa, game.
Social media such as Facebook pages, including radio hosts in Ethiopia have been tirelessly condemning Betty’s very-open "hook up" on live television.

There's been lots of condemnation especially from Ethiopians on social media, on this act while it's really shocking to some other Africans to hear that having sex in public is considered a 'crime' in some parts of the continent.

See some comments below:

Questions Arising:
  1. If Bolt was evicted before Betty and Betty finally won the $300,000 at the end of the show, would they be suing her? Would the issue of having sex in public even come up?
  2. Also, having sex in front of cameras, is it same as having sex in public?
  3. Why is there no emphasis on Bolt? Okay I guess it is not a crime in Sierra Leone, or it's just a man's world, so men can have sex on live tv and get away with it, but women can't.
  4. Where is Bolt right now? Has he sought Betty out? Will their love still continue?
  5. I'd really like to know what Betty felt and how she looked when she saw her 'sex-video' with Bolt in the Big Brother House.
I hope Selly wouldn't have to face this also when evicted!
Women beware! It really is, a man's world! Protect your dignity at all cost!

Word For Today: Partakers Of His Wisdom

Partakers Of His Wisdom · Thursday, July 4th ·

Pastor Chris

…and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:1-3).
Pastor Chris
In the verse above, the word "wisdom" is the Greek "Sophia," which means insight into reality: learning, science, or hidden things, including enigmatic and symbolic language. It means discernment or penetrating insight into things that men find difficult to comprehend or unravel. This wisdom, the Bible says, is concealed in Christ.

There’re two striking thoughts from our theme scripture that I want you to notice. First, notice that the verse didn’t say, "in Christ are hid SOME of the treasures of wisdom and knowledge"; rather, it says, "in Christ are hid "ALL" the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Secondly, notice also that it didn’t say "in Jesus are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge"; instead it says, "Christ…."
Christ, in this context, refers to the Church, of which Jesus is the head, and we are His body. So, Jesus, you and me make up Christ—the Church. Romans 8:17 lets us know that we’re joint heirs with Him; what He is, we have become; what belongs to Him belongs to us. This is because we’re members of the Body of Christ: "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular" (1 Corinthians 12:27).

Inside us—every one of us who are in Christ—are concealed all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Therefore, nothing ought to be beyond your scope of understanding. You can know anything, and have insight into mysteries and secrets, for inside you is the wisdom of the Father.
Colossians 2:9-10 says "For in him (Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him…": we’re one with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17). God deposited all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Him for us; so we have access to hidden wisdom.

Confession
I function at a high level of precision, excellence and perfection because the wisdom of God is at work in me; having been endowed with all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Christ, Halleluiah.

Big Brother Africa #TheChase Update: Bolt & Maria Sent Packing; Others Up For Possible Eviction

Bolt’s luck finally ran out this week as he and Maria were evicted from Big Brother: #The Chase during Sunday night’s live eviction show. The Sierra Leonian heads home just a week after his love interest Betty, while the Namibian was only up for eviction after Head of House Nando saved himself and put her up in his place.

The duo are the 5th set of housemates to be evicted from Big Brother: The Chase, leaving 18 housemates competing for the USD300 000 grand prize.

For this week, beautiful couple Hakeem & Cleo are up for possible eviction, alongside Nando, Pokello, Bimp, Fatima & Angelo!

From top left, Hakeem, Cleo, Nando, Pokello, Bimp, Fatima, & Angelo
For some of this week’s Nominees; being put up for Eviction has become as second nature as breathing while for others it is a dreadful new experience.

South Africa’s Angelo, makes his first appearance on the Nomination list thanks to HoH Elikem who saved himself and put up the bubbly dancer in his place. The Ghanaian first chose Oneal but then changed his mind. Also new to the list is Fatima; who managed to rub the Rubies the wrong way with her ever changing moods. At the announcement of her Nomination the Malawian burst out in laughter.

The other first timers on the list are Bimp and Cleo. The friendly pair both found themselves on the chopping block because the Diamonds wanted to give a wakeup call to all the Housemates that have just been coasting by over the past weeks.

Nominations regular Pokello is starting to seem like the new Bolt. Just like the ousted Sierra Leonean; the Zimbabwean keeps finding herself on the Nominations list week after week. But unlike Bolt she has proven to be a strong contender; every time she has been up for Eviction, Africa has shown her lots of love. But will her luck finally run out this week?

Hakeem; who also is beginning to be a regular on the list; has found himself facing the Eviction dagger once again courtesy of Diamond HoH Melvin; who chose to save Selly and replace her with the Zimbabwean during an emotional ‘Save and Replace’ Diary session. Tanzania’s Nando rounds off the list. Who do you want to see get booted out of The Chase this week?

Remember to Vote for your favourite housemate! Every vote counts!

James Bond actor, 'Pierce Brosnan' Loses Daughter to Cancer

Pierce Brosnan & daughter, Charlotte
Popular 'James Bond' actor, Pierce Brosnan, has lost his daughter Charlotte to ovarian cancer at the age of 41 after a three-year battle with the disease.
Her mother, Cassandra Harris, died from the same type of cancer in 1991 while she was married to Brosnan.
Harris also lost her own mother to ovarian cancer when she was a teenager.

In a statement to People magazine, Brosnan said:
"On June 28 at 2pm my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer.
"She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas, and brothers Christopher and Sean.
"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl.
"We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon.
"We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."

The actor adopted Charlotte and her brother Christopher in the 1980s after the death of their father and the children took Brosnan's name.
He also had another son, Sean, with Cassandra Harris in 1983.
The Irish-born actor, who starred in four James Bond films, married his second wife Keely Shaye in 2001 and the couple have two children together.
