3 Female Students Beaten to Stupor for Stealing Panties

Angry market women on tuesday, beat three female undergraduates to coma, at the popular Asaba Ogbegonogo market, in Delta State for allegedly stealing panties at the boutique line.

Eyewitnesses said the suspects were caught with the pants after they had pretended to be customers and paid for two different ones selected from the hangers.

It was gathered that the suspects’ who are undergraduates of the state owned university were regular visitors to the market.

But the trust the traders had in them as regular customers evaporated when one of them, a 200 level mass communication student (names withheld) sought to be accompanied to where they could buy good pants and the suspects paid for two packets of mixed coloured pants and in the process allegedly removed three other packets alongside the ones they bought. Luck however ran out on them as the trader suddenly noticed the removal of some packets from where they were displayed.

They were said to have been beaten severely by angry market women who raced to the scene of the incident.
Police authorities at the ‘A’ Division Asaba confirmed the incident.

Word For Today: Rhapsody of Realities

Guard Your Heart · Thursday, February 28th

Pastor Chris

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).
Pastor Chris
Your mind is the door to your human spirit and whatever words and thoughts you allow to go through your mind, unchecked, will be deposited in your spirit. This is the reason you must screen and filter your thoughts and mount garrison over your heart, because out of your heart are the issues of life.
Every day, we hear words, see things, and read all kinds of information, positive and negative. You need to mount guard on your heart and not allow your spirit receive and process the negative information that come to us from the world. Refuse to be influenced or controlled by anything you hear, feel or see that’s not consistent with the provision of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
For example, media reports lately have consistently bemoaned the lingering world economic crises, forecasting stiffer financial trouble and greater recession for many more nations around the world. As a result, many have become faithless, not knowing what to do to escape the manacles of inflation, poverty, and deprivation. Well, that has nothing to do with you, so don’t dwell on it. Job 22:29 says, "When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up…." Rather than allow such negative reports instill fear in you, say, "That’s not for me. I function in the realm of super-abundance because I’m a child of God; an heir of the Sovereign, and a joint heir with Christ. Therefore I can never be disadvantaged in life."
Don’t accommodate the wrong thoughts, otherwise they’ll stir up fear in you. Use the Word of God as a filter to stop contrary thoughts from getting into your "heart disk." Keep vigilant watch over your heart. Your life today is the direct result of your thoughts and your words. The thoughts you allow give rise to the words you speak, which is why the Word enjoins us to renew our minds: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…" (Romans 12:2).
That transformation begins with the content of your thoughts. Reject thoughts of fear, sickness, lack, sorrow, and failure. Embrace the thoughts of success, victory, health, prosperity, happiness, and fulfilment that come from God’s Word.
Confession
The Word is my life, and will continually govern my heart and produce in me what it talks about, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Fayemi’s N5m Donation Tears Church Apart

Governor Kayode Fayemi

The N5million was donated to the Millennium Anglican Church, Odo Owa Ekiti by Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, is allegedly tearing the church apart. It would be recalled that Fayemi donated N5 million to the church during the burial of its late primate, Most Rev. Abiodun Adetiloye  on January 19, 2013. Shortly after the donation, the leaders and clergy of the church were said to have met where the issue of the donation was discussed. Members were said to have resolved on how to utilize the money among others.
It was gathered that they agreed that among others, it would be used to renovate the church, buy a bus for evangelism while N1million would be put  into a special account. However, the Bishop of Ekiti West Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Oludare Oke, was said to have told the members including the vicar, Reverend Mike Ogunniyi, that the N5 million was to be deposited in a fixed Account because it was an endowment fund and not a gift to the Church alone.
For allegedly failing to heed the advice of the Bishop, the Bishop was said to have ordered the demotion of the vicar from Archdeacon to Canon for alleged insubordination. Dissatisfied with the  demotion,  members in Odo Owa Ekiti were said to have last Sunday sealed off the Church auditorium  donated to  the town  by the late  Archbishop Adetiloye  and prevented  leaders of the church  and members from gaining access to  worship. The closure of the church was said to have created tension in the community, prompting the  town’s traditional  ruler to intervene to forestall breakdown of law and order.
A concerned member told Vanguard that “The Archdeacon having got the support of the Church members bought a new bus at the cost of N3 million, while a sum of N1 million was used to renovate the Church. The remaining N1 million was kept in the Church’s Account. The Bishop was not happy with the action of the Archdeacon and this led to his demotion to the rank of a Canon.”
