Remember Godogodo (pictured above)? He is the very notorious criminal who was caught some months ago and who the police referred to as bigger than Shina Rambo (Another very notorious criminal).

Godogodo after his capture, confessed to being a part of the biggest robbery operation this year at the MMIA. 

Well, there is another twist to the story as a particular Kabiru Mohammed has confessed to being the informant, who notified Godogodo and his gang about the deal.

Kabiru Mohammed, the son of a bureau de change operator at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport has been arrested by men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Ikeja. Kabiru, a student of the Lagos State University, was arrested for his involvement with a robbery gang whom he hired to steal $383,000 or N61 million from his father.

The suspect confessed to hiring a notorious armed robber, Abiodun Ogunjobi aka Godogodo to rob his father of the sum of money. Mohammed is in the custody of the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Ikeja.

He said, “My father is a bureau de change operator at the airport. I am the one who arranged a seven-man armed robbery gang led by Godogodo to rob my older brother, Ibrahim who was carrying my father’s money amounting to $383,000.

“I told the gang that my father had dollars. The first operation was when Ibrahim wanted to convey money from local airport to international airport, I called Godogodo and gave him the car number plate and the colour of the car. I told them not to kill my brother, but to shoot into the air. I knew my brother would release the money because my father told us not to drag money with armed robbers. They collected $350,000 and gave me only two bundles which is $20,000

“In the second operation they stopped my brother in front of Air Force Bus Stop and collected $33,000 and they gave me $8,000.”

Kabiru Mohammed confessed to being a member of the gang and follows them on some operations.

“I am a member of the robbery gang. My role is to find targets and also information which I give to the gang. That is why they call me ‘Target man’.”

He said he spent his share of the loot on building a mosque in Kano and buying 17 rams for the less privileged.

CRIME IN CHURCH: Couple, In-law Steal 13m from Church In Oyo [Pictured]

A suspect, Pius Edward; his wife, Fausat; and her mother, have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the theft of N13m from Bishop’s Court, an Anglican church in Bodija area of Ibadan.

Edward, a security man at the church was said to have broken into an office where the money was kept and made away with it.

It was alleged that he woke his wife the following morning and told her to prepare for a journey with the children.

After the theft was reported by one of the reverends in the church, the police were, however, able to trace his movement and nabbed him at Idi-Iroko, Ogun State, where he had gone to buy two cars with part of his loot.

He was also said to be planning to relocate his family to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ndabawa, said Edwards’ in-law’s involvement was attempting to help the family disappear from Nigeria by facilitating the procurement of their travel documents.

He said, “On November 9, at about 9am, an accountant attached to Bishop’s Court, Bodija, Ibadan, reported to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad office that on November 8, at 11.55pm, Edward broke into the office and made away with N13m which belongs to the church.

Investigation revealed that the suspect was hiding in a hotel at Odeda in Ogun State. With the help of immigration office, Ogun State Command, the suspect and his family were assisted in procuring travelling document to Dubai without letting him know that he was being lured out of his hiding place. He was arrested thereafter at Idi-Iroko, Ogun State with two unregistered car he had purchased with part of the money.”

Also recovered from him were N656,000 and $2,300, while Edward said he tore a N7m cheque belonging to the church for fear of being arrested while attempting to cash it.

Edward confessed to the crime while speaking with our correspondent, adding that he only stole N2.5m and that he purchased N1.8m cars from the loot.

“I pushed my wife into the crime. My mother in-law was involved because she introduced me to the immigration officer that helped us procure the travelling document,” he said.

Fausat said she did not know that her husband had stolen the money.

“He threatened to leave me with the children if I did not follow him.

“So I followed him. He did not tell me that he stole money from the church,” she said"

The Lagos State Police Command has paraded a three-month old pregnant woman alongside a seven-man armed robbery gang on Monday who confessed to the alleged killing of two police officers attached to the Iju-Ishaga Police Station last October.

The police also recovered from the suspects: two AK-47 rifles with numberd 56-2-5012375 and 07015493 with two AK-47 Magazines fully loaded; one automatic pump action gun; four locally made pistolS and 135 live cartridges with their operational vehicle one Ash Colour Hyundai Tucson Jeep with registration number MUS 350 BG in Egbeda area of Lagos.

Among the suspects paraded was Olubaba, an accomplice of the dare-devil armed robbery kingpin, Godogodo .

The suspects met their waterloo on Sunday during an exchange of fire with the crack SARS operatives .

Taiwo Obafunso, 28, the pregnant woman and mother of a teenager told journalists that she unknowingly got involved with the robbers because one of them had at various times given her monetary gifts.

Others arrested included: Ife Olubaba, 29; Saheed Wasiu, 23; Odelade Kabiru, 23; ,Segun Idowu, 20; Wasiu Rafiu, 23; Wasiu Sonni, 26; and Taiye Agege (now deceased). 

They were paraded on Monday for also wounding four policemen.

2 KAI Officers Arrested Over N800,000 Bribe In Lagos

Two officers of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), have been arrested for allegedly demanding for N800,000 bribe from a trader at Iddo Market, Oyingbo area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

The KAI officers, Femi Ajayi and Samuel Awoseyin allegedly demanded for the money from the trader, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna.

The trader, who is the Secretary of the Iddo Outside Market alleged that the officers had illegally sealed up the market’s toilet and accused the leadership of the market of non-compliance with the sanitation law of the state.

Haruna said as he could not provide the money, the KAI officers allegedly collected the sum of N30,000 from him to get the toilet re-opened.

He promptly reported the matter at KAI’s headquarters while the authorities ordered the arrest of the suspects, who were first detained at the Taskforce office at Alausa, Ikeja. They were later released to the KAI authorities to take appropriate action against them for bring the body into disrepute.

The two officers were summoned to the Head Office of the brigade after the trader made the allegation about the extortion, and they were suspended for three months without pay pending the outcome of investigation, which the authorities said was ongoing.

Police Arrest Two Men in Ekiti for Allegedly Defiling Infants

The Police have nabbed a 26-year-old man in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State for allegedly having canal knowledge of a five-year-old daughter of his father’s tenant.

Briefing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Victor Babayemi, said the accused was arrested on August 28, 2013, after an attempt to lure the girl with a loaf of bread.

According to Babayemi, the accused in his confessional statement said he had been using bread to entice the girl and her sisters since he works in a bakery.

The suspect was said to have brought a loaf of bread and invited the girl to his room where he allegedly abused her sexually.

In a related development, a 57-year-old man, one David (surname withheld), who allegedly defiled his five-year-old step-daughter in Igede-Ekiti, has been paraded by the police in Igede-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

Ismaila Dauda, a 27-year-old secondary school dropout, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for an alleged abduction of a traditional ruler's wife.

Ismaila, a fledgling actor, from Ondo, was accused of attempting to abduct the wife of the traditional ruler of Ilisan Remo in March 2013, with the help of three others: Segun, Nurudeen and an unidentified man.

Nevertheless, Dauda stated he was not aware that he was part of a gang of kidnappers until it was too late.

Dauda pleaded, 

"At the time, I was not aware that it was a planned abduction. Segun is a close friend and had borrowed my car. Because the car was without a spare tyre and not in good condition, I offered to drive him wherever he wanted.

"I was under the impression that Segun was in search of a suitable school for his teaching practice as he is a student of a College of Education.”

The suspects, Dauda, Segun and Nurudeen, allegedly left Ondo, while a fourth unidentified man was picked up at Ore. Under Segun’s direction, Dauda allegedly drove to a secondary school close to the palace of the Oba of Ilisan in Ogun State.

At about 1pm, an elderly lady was said to have driven out of the school compound and headed in the direction of the king’s palace.

Dauda said, 

"At the time, I was unaware that she was the king’s wife. By the time she came to where we were parked, she stopped because my car was blocking her path. To my shock, Segun and Nurudeen rushed to her vehicle, brandishing guns and pulled her out. Till that moment, I had had no idea that they had guns in their possession."

The victim was bundled into Dauda’s car and driven away. Some residents, however, raised the alarm and alerted the police after witnessing the abduction.

"It seemed Segun had stationed some spies around because while I was driving, he received a call that the police had already begun to give a chase behind us and that the neighbourhod vigilantes had mobilised ahead of us to block our escape.

"Immediately, I heard that, I could no longer drive. I was so scared, I had to drive off the road into the bush and we abandoned my car there with the king’s wife in it," Dauda recalled.

Dauda and his friends, allegedly hid in the bush till 7pm until Segun’s spies showed up and took them all to an uncompleted building at the Ijebu-Ode end of Sagamu-Benin Expressway. The suspects were said to have hidden there till 6.30am the following day, when a vehicle arrived to convey them back to Ondo state.

Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, an Ogun State Police Public Relations officer, confirmed the incident, He said 

"The victim was rescued from the car unhurt although some pepper had been sprayed into her eyes to prevent her from identifying where she was to be held captive.

"All the suspects escaped from the scene. In their haste, a sim card belonging to Dauda was left in the car.

"Dauda was tracked to his home in Ondo State but he had gone into hiding in his hometown, Iwo. It wasn’t until May 19 that Dauda returned home and he was promptly arrested by the Fagun Police Division and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department, Abeokuta. Investigation is on to apprehend the other fleeing suspects."

I Killed 23 People in 2 Days - Captured Boko Haram Member

A member of the Boko Haram sect, who was arrested in Maiduguri, Borno State, shocked the people of Ngomari ward “Bakin Borehole” in Maiduguri, when he confessed to killing 23 people in two days, including slaughtering a village head and police officers in the area.

The member, who was arrested on Tuesday evening, was said to have relocated about a year ago and rented a one-room apartment, living as an innocent citizen in search of safe haven in the state capital.

A resident of Ngomari, who pleaded anonymity, told the Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday that the sect member was arrested wearing a Jeans trouser and a vest when he went out to fetch water.

According to the resident, the sect member was arrested by “Civilian JTF,” adding that his arrest was made possible when the vigilance youth arrested his younger brother who, in turn, took them to Ngomari, where his brother was living.

“We were shocked when we heard that Civilian JTF came and arrested a sect member in our area.

“We have never imagined we could have somebody like that in our area, because we have been living peacefully.

“We were the most shocked when the sect member confessed that he killed 23 people in two days. That is horrible and unimaginable, but a reality,” he said.  

Meanwhile, the “Civilian JTF” was seen on Wednesday in front of the house of one of the politicians in Maiduguri at about 7.15 a.m, barely 24 hours after it was reported that the youth group went hunting for the politician for allegedly sponsoring terrorism in the state.

In another development, some members of the dreaded sect have promised the presidential committee on dialogue and peaceful resolution of security challenges in the North to collaborate with the government to put an end to the continued bloodletting.

During a visit of the presidential committee on dialogue and peaceful resolution of security challenges in the North to a detention site in Maiduguri, on Tuesday, over 50 detained members of the sect said if they were given a chance, they would assist authorities to end the crisis.

One of the detainees, Adam Konto, introduced himself to the chairman of the committee, Kabir Taminu Turaki, as the commander of the Bayan quarter, adding that they were ready not to pick up arms against the nation again.

"Most of us were brainwashed and recruited into the sect and given dastardly acts to do without our full understanding of what we were doing," he said.

Another detainee, who identified himself as Babagana Saje, while also expressing his readiness to denounce the sect, said the police should be commended for keeping them alive.

How I Swindled American Women Of $48,000 – Imo State University Student

A 22-year-old Microbiology undergraduate confessed to defrauding white women of a total of $48,000. He said his victims, resident in the United States of America, were 'swept off their feet' by his profile on a dating site where he .

The suspects are Chibuzor Akobundu (Devon Miles, Martin Williams and Sani Bala Ismaila1st left), and other alleged accomplices.

He spoke with journalists yesterday, while being paraded alongside two staff of a second generation bank, who allegedly facilitated the withdrawal of money via Western Union Money Transfer.
The suspect adopted Devon Miles as his name and pasted a photograph of an unknown American citizen as his profile on the dating site.

Victims
He confessed to have swindled five American single women within the ages of 40 and 50, in search for husbands.
He gave the name of his first victim as Antoinette. He promised to marry her and was able to dupe her of $16,000 before she suspected he was a fraudster.
His next victim was one Jettie Simpson, who reportedly sent $5,000 to him via Western Union.
Others also duped by Akobundu were Shelly Bashir, $100; Billie Klock, $13,000, in a relationship that reportedly lasted for five months, and Andrea Desena, $8,000.

‘How I operate’
Akobundu said: “I started browsing the dating site three years ago, posing as a US citizen residing in Nigeria.
“At that time, it was a common game around my area in Ikeja. Along the line I met these ladies who were looking for husbands.
“They fell in love with me because of my profile, where I stated that I was a 49-year-old divorcee in search of a wife. I claimed to be an engineer.
“I would tell them I was stranded in Nigeria and needed some money to travel back to US and they would send the money via Western Union.
“At other times, I would tell them that my daughter was sick and that I needed money to offset her hospital bill and they would fall for the trick. I have never used charm to hypnotise any of them.
“My parents were never aware of what I was into because anytime I got a reasonable amount, I would travel to South Africa and squander the money.
“My regret is that I never used the money for anything tangible, to avoid suspicion. My mum is a teacher, while my father is a businessman and have been responsible for the payment of my school fees.”

Victim's Story
Explaining how he was arrested, spokesperson for the Unit, Ngozi Insitume-Agu, said: “The arrest followed a petition via the Unit’s website from one Amelia Brosick, a US citizen, dated April 16, 2013, where she alleged that one Devon Miles, suspected to be a Nigerian, defrauded her to the tune of $16,439 using different tactics.
“She added that she met the suspect on a dating site in June 2012, and the suspect, under the guise of dating her for the purpose of marriage, obtained the alleged sum fraudulently through Western Union.
“Armed with the petition, Western Union was contacted and they sent a detailed spread sheet showing all the transfers in the name of the suspect.
“Following the information, the duo of Nnamdi Nwakwue Dike and Olawale Oguniran attached to Western Union in Skye Bank, Owerri and Allen Avenue, Ikeja, branches, respectively, were arrested.
“Their revealing statements led to the arrest of the serial internet fraudster, Chibuzor Akobundun also known as Devon Miles, Martin Williams and Sani Bala Ismaila. He adopted Devon as the internet name, but opened the account in the name of Martin Williams.

Accomplices confess
“He confessed that he provided the bank staff with the photocopy of his identity card so that they could withdraw the monies, while he gave them some percentage.
“The bank staff also confessed that they used Uche’s particulars to withdraw money from other persons’ accounts without his knowledge.”
However, Dike of the Owerri branch denied knowledge of what Akobundun was into. He maintained that he was only doing his job as a front-line teller staff of the bank, adding that he had never at any time paid Akobundu above the stipulated amount.
He said: “Anytime he came to collect the money, he would answer the question given  correctly, including the secret code.
“Mine is to ascertain whether the details corresponded with what was in the system at the end of which I would hand his money over to him.”
Asked if he received any gratification from Akobundu, he said he was given tips of N1,000 or N2,000 at times, just like some other bank customers do.

Cultists & Security Man Gang Rape 18yr Old Student in Ekiti

Four suspected members of a cult group and a security man at a private polytechnic in Ekiti State have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a student of the institution.

The rape victim (name withheld), who is an ND 1 student of the polytechnic, told us at the Ekiti State Police Command headquarters in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday that the suspects stormed her room, tied her up and took turn to rape her.

The four suspected rapists are Kunle Aralepo 20, Oluwaseun Akomolafe, 23, who are ND II students of Business Administration and Kehinde Adeyemi and Ayo Olomola, who are on the run.

The victim added that one of the boys had asked her out and she refused.

She also accused one of the security men in the polytechnic, Mr. Seyi Adanbioje, of raping her the same day at his residence.

The victim said the Chief Security Officer of the school directed Adanbioje to take her to police station to make an official report of the rape case.

She said after leaving the station, the security man took her to his residence and also forcefully had sex with her.

The security man, however, denied raping the female student. He explained that he granted the girl an asylum because she said she could not sleep alone in her house.

He said, "She could not sleep alone because she was afraid that those who had earlier raped her might come back again."

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Victor Babayemi, who paraded the suspects, said police investigation had shown that rape cases had been rampant at the institution.

He said the police were still probing such cases of rape and why they were not reported to the police.

Babayemi said the police would thoroughly investgate the fresh rape incident and allow justice to take its course.

The PPRO said, "A group of four young men namely, Aralepo Kunle, Akomolafe Oluwaseun (both ND II Business Administration students), Kehinde Adeyemi and Ayo Olomola, aka AY Bishop, who was expelled from the school in March for rape went to the house of a female student of the polytechnic, broke her door to gain entry, tied her hands and legs and gang-raped her.

“They also robbed her of her phone and the sum of N5,000.00. A security guard at the polytechnic, Seyi Adanbioje, 28, was also found to be part of the gangsters. He was told to take the girl to the police station and make a report but he took a detour to his house, where he also raped the victim."

Former NNPC Staff Arrested For Vandalising Pipeline

 

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Task Force on anti pipeline vandalism have arrested a former staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Bashiru Majorette, while allegedly siphoning petroleum product at Odi Ifediwo area of Ogun State.

Preliminary investigation, according to officer in-charge of the unit, Friday Ibadin,an Assistant Commissioner of Police, revealed that the suspect was dismissed from the NNPC following his alleged connivance with pipeline vandals.

He was subsequently arrested, arraigned and sentenced to five years imprisonment and was recently released.

Surprisingly, the suspect disclosed that while in prison, he formed an association with other vandals, with a view to continuing with the illegal business after serving their respective jail terms.

He said he opted to connive with pipeline vandals while still working, following what he described as ill-treatment by the NNPC.

According to him, “I was employed by NNPC to guard the pipeline in 2002. My records are there that my line was always protected because I never allowed vandals to go near the area I was guarding. They (vandals) had approached me severally with thousands of naira but I refused because I wanted a clean record and hoped that I would be promoted.

“But along the line, I discovered that NNPC officials were ingrates. They were in their offices wearing tie, while I was left in the bush to protect pipeline and was given stipends. We complained severally and were told that the contractor who employed us on behalf of NNPC was the one that should be held responsible.

“I decided to help myself to survive out there in the bush. Whenever they wanted to operate, I would pretend as if I never knew that they were there unless NNPC officials at the technical room discovered a drop and raised an alarm that vandals were in my area.

Vandals can be deadly

“It was only then that I started enjoying the dividend of the job because all this while I had risked my life for nothing. Those vandals can be deadly, if you do not allow them to work. This explains why most of our security men prefer to allow them to function with impunity. Those days, I was dreaded because I used all within my reach to protect the pipelines.”

Arrest and Conviction

On his arrest and conviction, Bashiru accused one Dosumu of betraying him by informing NNPC that he was allowing vandals to operate.

He said: “Dosumu was sacked because NNPC suspected him. He came to me and asked to operate in my area and I refused. He decided to leak my secret to NNPC. Normally, whenever there is a drop in pressure, we would be alerted and to reduce the heat on us or the vandals, we would tell them that there was a leakage. Dosumu, out of envy, reported that all those leakages were the activities of vandals and that I was very much aware.

“I was at our weekly meeting on September 14, 2008, when policemen came and arrested me. I was later told that there was a petition against me, alleging that I was into NNPC pipeline vandalisation. I was remanded in prison and later convicted to five years imprisonment by Justice Okeke.”

Many Pipeline Vandals In Prison

In prison, Bashiru met most of the vandals in prison and quickly joined their association.

He said: “I was shocked at the number of pipeline vandals that I knew that were in Ikoyi prison. I tried my best to secure my bail but failed because I did not have enough money to pay lawyers.

“I resigned to my fate and joined the association, and since I had more information, I became an authority in the group. Those who were able to secure their bail ensured that our interests were protected in all their deals. They paid our own share of the money in our accounts while we controlled deals outside through our phones. The guys outside knew the importance of keeping to the agreement before they left because one day, they would be arrested and brought to the prison.”

My Release From Prison

On his release from prison, Bashiru said: “On May 16, 2012, I was released from prison after five years. Normally, anyone that was released would be advised to go underground. This was what I did but I never knew that the police had got my number and was tracking my calls through some vandals that were in their net.

“Unfortunately, that night I was patrolling the area to alert those in the bush whenever I spotted security operatives. Two men accosted me and I thought they were marketers and I stopped. It was when they slapped me that I realised that they were security operatives. I couldn’t believe that I was heading back to the prisons. My plan was to raise money and start my own business.

How He Was Arrested

“Please, Nigerians should help me to appeal to the police to give me another chance. There was no other way for me to survive than to go back to the same crime. I am very sorry.”

Explaining how he was arrested, Ibadin said: “Police got a tip off that vandals were operating in Odi Ifediwo area of Ogun State.

Policemen led by Sector Commander, Lagos, DSP Onaghise Osayande, cordoned off the area and in the process arrested Bashiru. They also recovered a DAF truck with number plate XJ359DKA as well as the spot where they planted three valves with hose of about 100 metres. I was shocked to realise that Bashiru whom I arrested five years ago was freed and was back to the same crime.

Domestic Violence: Man Kills Wife, Attempts Suicide (Photo)

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old man, Daniel Kanjo, for allegedly killing his 24-year-old wife, Meno Kanjo, in Elemoro, Ajah area of the state.

According to police investigations, Daniel stabbed his wife to death after catching her making love to another man in a bush near their home.

According to a police source at Elemoro Divison, after stabbing his wife many times, the suspect also stabbed himself in the stomach and in the neck.

The suspect and the wife were thought to be dead,  forcing the residents to call the police to evacuate the corpses

As policemen were packing the corpses to the mortuary, Daniel was, however, discovered to be breathing and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

The suspect, who had been discharged, told PUNCH Metro that the incident was the work of the devil.

He said he loved his wife dearly and never hit her prior to the incident, adding that when he caught her red-handed committing adultery, he lost control.

He said, “I am from Benin Republic but I have been living in Nigeria since 2001. I have two wives. My first wife has six children for me. However in 2010, I got married to Meno (the deceased) and we have a one-year-old child together.

“I am a bricklayer by vocation and I have never denied Meno of anything, even though she was a hairdresser and was making money. I was also faithful to her and showed her love.”

Narrating what transpired on the fateful day, the suspect said he came back from work in the afternoon and needed to collect something from the deceased.

He said as he was looking for her in the house, he was drawn by sounds emanating from a nearby bush.

He said, “When I heard the sound coming from the bush, I moved near and saw my wife having sex with a strange man. As I moved closer, the man saw me and ran away. But I was able to grab my wife and I gave her the beating of her life.

“I did not know what came over me, but I took a knife and stabbed her all over her body. Before I realised what happened, the devil also pushed me to stab myself. I stabbed myself in the stomach and also slit my throat.”

Daniel said some of his neighbours, who were drawn by the noise, started beating him up when they saw his wife on the ground.

He said, “After stabbing myself, I was still moving on the floor although I was weak. Some people came around and started beating me, saying that I must die too since I had killed my wife. They beat me up and took photographs. When I woke up, I found myself in the hospital.”

The suspect urged the police to release him as he was not himself when he was committing the crime. He said if he was sent to prison, his children would suffer.

He said, “My first born is 13 years old while my youngest child is a year old. I pay their school fees and I am responsible for their upkeep. If I am sent to prison, they will all suffer.”

The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, Damasus Ozoani, said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Police Arrests Killers Of Kwara Commissioner Of Police

The Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar says the suspected killers of Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chinwike Asadu, have been arrested.

Asadu was murdered about three months ago at his Amorji Nike residence in Enugu State.Briefing  journalists, Wednesday, in Enugu during his official working visit to the state, the IGP said the arms used by the killers during the operation were also recovered by the police.

He said following the confessional statements by the seven persons arrested, the police were on the trail of other collaborators in the murder.“We have arrested seven of those behind the killing of CP Chinwike Asadu; his killing was indeed a sad incident and that’s why when I visited the family after the incident, I made a promise that we shall stop at nothing to get those behind that dastardly act.

“I am glad to tell Nigerians that of those who took part in the killing, seven have been arrested and arraigned before a court”, he said. 

He gave the names of the suspects as Ogechukwu Uzoh, Ogechukwu Nnadi, Ugwuoke Obiora, Okwuosa Anthony, Chukwudi Enete, Davil Elvis Aja and Amobi Nnamchi”.

“These are the seven persons charged for murder; aside the killing of the CP, they also confessed to killing other innocent souls and several acts of criminality”, he added.

The police boss, however declined giving further details on the arrest as well as what could have informed the motive.

On the murder of several policemen by the Ombatse militia group in Nasarawa State, the IGP said the matter was still under serious investigation, stressing that “what happened there is condemnable by any reasonable person.

After investigation, we will be able to brief the press adequately.Earlier, the IGP who commissioned a medical clinic at the Enugu State police headquarters commended the media for their partnership role with the police.

He said several of such clinics were due to be commissioned in the South-East zone of the country.
