Kenya Foreign Minister Says Americans, Briton Among Mall Attackers

Kenya’s foreign minister, Amina Mohammed, on Monday said that two or three Americans and one Briton were among those who attacked a Nairobi shopping mall.

A report by Associated Press (AP) records that during an interview with PBS’ “NewsHour” program, Mohammed disclosed that the Americans were 18 to 19 years old, of Somali or Arab origin and lived “in Minnesota and one other place” in the U.S. The attacker from Britain was a woman who has “done this many times before.”

More than 60 people have been killed in the assault on the upscale mall, which lasted for three days.

The foreign minister said Authorities in Kenya were trying to wrap up their bloody standoff with al-Shabab, a group allied with al-Qaida.

However, U.S. officials said they were looking into whether any Americans were involved. State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki on Monday said the department had “no definitive evidence of the nationalities or the identities” of the attackers.

While White House spokesman, Ben Rhodes said U.S. officials have seen “reports coming out of al-Shabab that indicate information along those lines,” referring to possible involvement of Americans in the attack.

“But we have to run those to ground, of course,” he said. “We do monitor very carefully and have for some time been concerned about efforts by al-Shabab to recruit Americans or U.S. persons to come to Somalia.

“This is an issue that has been tracked very closely by the U.S. government, and it’s one that we’ll be looking into in the days ahead.”

Furthermore, Mohamed said Kenya needs to work with other governments to fight the increasing terrorist threat and “much more with the U.S and the U.K., because both the victims and the perpetrators came from Kenya, the United Kingdom and the United States. From the information we have, two or three Americans and so far I’ve heard of one Brit.”

She added: “That just goes to underline the global nature of this war that we are fighting.”

Six Attackers Killed

Kenya’s Citizen TV reported on Tuesday that troops had killed “six of the remaining attackers” but did not give further details and the report was unsourced.

“Security forces killed six of the remaining attackers,” the channel said in a brief headline. Officials earlier said three of the 10 to 15 people who stormed the building on Saturday had been killed.

The government said it was in control of the mall, although there was another burst of gunfire at 9.30 a.m. (0530 GMT) and two security personnel at the scene said security forces were still searching the mall.

Jamaican-American Rapper Sean Kingston Sued for Alleged Gang Rape... TMZ

According to TMZ,

Sean Kingston and his bodyguard gang raped a drunk teenager in the singer's hotel room back in 2010, according to a new lawsuit -- but Sean says it's B.S.

The victim, Carissa Capeloto now 22yrs old, claims she was forced to have sex with Sean, his bodyguard and a member of Sean's band at a Seattle hotel in July, 2010, after she had smoked pot and downed 7-10 shots of vodka.

Capeloto who has sued all 3 men alleges she'd been invited to Kingston's hotel room for a meet-and-greet following a Bieber concert where Kingston had also performed, but when she showed up Kingston was waiting naked on his bed.

Capeloto claims the bodyguard picked her up and placed her on top of Kingston, and all three of the men proceeded to gang rape her while she was "obviously intoxicated, incapable of consent."

Capeloto says her friend later entered the room and rescued her. The police were called and Capeloto was taken to the hospital where she says she was treated for physical injuries consistent with rape.

She says her life has been ruined ... she can barely sleep, has mood swings and panic attacks.  Capeloto wants $5 mil minimum.  

BTW ... criminal charges against Kingston were dropped in 2010 after cops concluded Capeloto wasn't credible enough for a legit case.

Kingston has filed legal docs insisting the sex was 100% consensual.

Trial is set for November.

Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles Leads rally in protest of Zimmerman 'not guilty' Verdict

 
Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles has used the message once spoken by human rights activist Malcolm X to express her outrage after Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges in the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin.

 

The 27-year-old entertainer held the rally on Sunday at Borough Hall in Brooklyn, New York.

Solange held a plaque between her hands which quoted Malcolm X's words: 'I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against.'  
 
She remained somber and calm while speaking in front of a crowd that numbered in the hundreds.

A jury of six women took more than 16 hours and 20 minutes to come to come to their unanimous decision that the death was justifiable.

Zimmerman, who was a neighbourhood watch volunteer, was charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting Martin on February 26, 2012.

The court was told that he had followed the unarmed youngster through a park because he looked like he was 'up to no good.'

Zimmerman, a volunteer neighbourhood watchman, claims he shot Martin in self-defence, and that the teen punched him repeatedly before deciding to use lethal force.

Wedding bells are indeed, in the air for Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose!

According to TMZ, the lovebirds who can't seem to get enough of each other, were seen picking up their marriage license at a Los Angeles courthouse today. The document expires in 90 days, so it looks like the happy couple will be saying “I Do” within the next three months.

Wiz proposed to the love of his life in March 2012, and in February this year, Amber gave birth to their first son, Sebastian Taylor Thomaz.

Ice Prince who is unarguably one of Nigeria's most humble celebs, really impressed me with his attitude at the 2013 BET awards which held in Los Angeles. 

You wonder how'z that? Or why the 'ooooooooshee'?

I'm thanking Ice Prince on behalf of Nigerians and Africa as a whole... because just after accepting the, he kept repeating 'thank you BET for placing Africa/Nigeria on the map' 

He didn't see it as 'mine'. He saw it as 'ours'... 

The most touching part was when Ice Prince asked for a few minutes to take a photo with all other nominees in the same category which he won. (see the photos below)

NFL Star Aaron Hernandez Charged With Murder

American football player Aaron Hernandez has been charged with murder over the death of another player whose body was found near his home.

Hernandez, 23, was arrested on Wednesday morning at his sprawling home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts.

 

He is accused of murdering Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-professional player for the Boston Bandits.

Hernandez also faces several firearms violations. He was ordered to be held without bail.
Mr Lloyd's body was found on June 17 in an industrial park a mile from Hernandez's house.
Authorities said he had been shot multiple times in the back and chest.

Mr Lloyd's relatives said he had been dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee, adding the two men were friends and both had been out together on the night Mr Lloyd died.

In court on Wednesday, prosecutors said the killing arose from a dispute at a Boston nightclub on June 14.

They said Mr Lloyd was aware Hernandez was upset with him after being picked up by the NFL star in the early hours of June 17.

Prosecutors said Mr Lloyd sent a text to his sister saying: "Did you see who I am with."

When his sister asked who, Mr Lloyd responded: "NFL."

Within minutes of the text, people working overnight at the industrial park reported hearing gunshots, authorities said.

State police searched Hernandez's home several times in the days before his arrest.

The New England Patriots issued a statement shortly after Hernandez, who joined them from the University of Florida in 2010, was arrested.

"We realise that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process," they said.

"At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do."

Last summer, the Patriots gave Hernandez a five-year contract worth $40m.

They've tried to shut down the page but can't, because Facebook's policy is that the family of a user can't shut down an account if that user is thirteen years or older.
Her family thinks Facebook could lead to another tragedy but can't do anything about it.

How I Swindled American Women Of $48,000 – Imo State University Student

A 22-year-old Microbiology undergraduate confessed to defrauding white women of a total of $48,000. He said his victims, resident in the United States of America, were 'swept off their feet' by his profile on a dating site where he .

The suspects are Chibuzor Akobundu (Devon Miles, Martin Williams and Sani Bala Ismaila1st left), and other alleged accomplices.

He spoke with journalists yesterday, while being paraded alongside two staff of a second generation bank, who allegedly facilitated the withdrawal of money via Western Union Money Transfer.
The suspect adopted Devon Miles as his name and pasted a photograph of an unknown American citizen as his profile on the dating site.

Victims
He confessed to have swindled five American single women within the ages of 40 and 50, in search for husbands.
He gave the name of his first victim as Antoinette. He promised to marry her and was able to dupe her of $16,000 before she suspected he was a fraudster.
His next victim was one Jettie Simpson, who reportedly sent $5,000 to him via Western Union.
Others also duped by Akobundu were Shelly Bashir, $100; Billie Klock, $13,000, in a relationship that reportedly lasted for five months, and Andrea Desena, $8,000.

‘How I operate’
Akobundu said: “I started browsing the dating site three years ago, posing as a US citizen residing in Nigeria.
“At that time, it was a common game around my area in Ikeja. Along the line I met these ladies who were looking for husbands.
“They fell in love with me because of my profile, where I stated that I was a 49-year-old divorcee in search of a wife. I claimed to be an engineer.
“I would tell them I was stranded in Nigeria and needed some money to travel back to US and they would send the money via Western Union.
“At other times, I would tell them that my daughter was sick and that I needed money to offset her hospital bill and they would fall for the trick. I have never used charm to hypnotise any of them.
“My parents were never aware of what I was into because anytime I got a reasonable amount, I would travel to South Africa and squander the money.
“My regret is that I never used the money for anything tangible, to avoid suspicion. My mum is a teacher, while my father is a businessman and have been responsible for the payment of my school fees.”

Victim's Story
Explaining how he was arrested, spokesperson for the Unit, Ngozi Insitume-Agu, said: “The arrest followed a petition via the Unit’s website from one Amelia Brosick, a US citizen, dated April 16, 2013, where she alleged that one Devon Miles, suspected to be a Nigerian, defrauded her to the tune of $16,439 using different tactics.
“She added that she met the suspect on a dating site in June 2012, and the suspect, under the guise of dating her for the purpose of marriage, obtained the alleged sum fraudulently through Western Union.
“Armed with the petition, Western Union was contacted and they sent a detailed spread sheet showing all the transfers in the name of the suspect.
“Following the information, the duo of Nnamdi Nwakwue Dike and Olawale Oguniran attached to Western Union in Skye Bank, Owerri and Allen Avenue, Ikeja, branches, respectively, were arrested.
“Their revealing statements led to the arrest of the serial internet fraudster, Chibuzor Akobundun also known as Devon Miles, Martin Williams and Sani Bala Ismaila. He adopted Devon as the internet name, but opened the account in the name of Martin Williams.

Accomplices confess
“He confessed that he provided the bank staff with the photocopy of his identity card so that they could withdraw the monies, while he gave them some percentage.
“The bank staff also confessed that they used Uche’s particulars to withdraw money from other persons’ accounts without his knowledge.”
However, Dike of the Owerri branch denied knowledge of what Akobundun was into. He maintained that he was only doing his job as a front-line teller staff of the bank, adding that he had never at any time paid Akobundu above the stipulated amount.
He said: “Anytime he came to collect the money, he would answer the question given  correctly, including the secret code.
“Mine is to ascertain whether the details corresponded with what was in the system at the end of which I would hand his money over to him.”
Asked if he received any gratification from Akobundu, he said he was given tips of N1,000 or N2,000 at times, just like some other bank customers do.

Dolce & Gabbana Sentenced To Prison For Tax Evasion

Fashion design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were on Wednesday handed a suspended prison sentence of one year and eight months for hiding hundreds of millions of euros from the tax authorities.

The designers, who are nearly as famous as the stars they dress, were not present in court in Milan and have denied the charges. Given the complexity and length of the appeals process, they are unlikely to spend any time in jail.

Public prosecutor Gaetano Ruta had asked for two and a half years. The judge gave them a suspended sentence.

A company spokesman declined to make an immediate comment but...

The case dates back to an investigation that began in 2008, when authorities unleashed a tax avoidance crackdown as the financial crisis began to bite. But the probe that ensnared the two designers is one of the few high-profile cases to come to trial so far.


The pair have always said they are innocent.

"Everyone knows that we haven't done anything," Gabbana tweeted in June 2012 after the trial was ordered.

But Gabbana's only reaction so far on Wednesday was to tweet a close up photograph of the branch of a colorful citrus tree, just seconds after the verdict.

The star is said to be pining for love of her life Chris Brown after they split and he went back to former girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

So Rihanna is thinking of checking into a clinic for heartbreak therapy to get over him, reports say.

The pop star is likely to begin the 12-step programme at a Tennessee clinic, which works with the same format as alcohol and drug rehab, during her upcoming six-week break from her tour.

Paris Jackson who was rushed to a hospital last week following her attempt at suicide, has reportedly told UCLA Medical Centre social workers she wants to live with her late father’s friend Diana Ross because she feels too "stifled" at home.

The 15-year-old daughter of Michael has been recovering from her recent suicide attempt and has apparently told social workers at UCLA Medical Centre she doesn’t want to be under the care of grandmother Katherine and cousin TJ Jackson anymore.

The Daily Star newspaper has revealed the troubled star "wants to live", but wants to do so under the care of the ‘Chain Reaction’ hitmaker.

According to an insider, Paris said: "I want to live. I just don’t want to live at home any more. I feel like I’m being stifled there".

"I miss my dad terribly still and at times I feel like there’s no one I can talk to about how I feel.

"I want to go and live with Diana, who was one of dad’s closest friends."

It was recently said that the 69-year-old singer was concerned for her goddaughter’s well-being but had no intention of stepping on the toes of the Jackson family while the ‘Thriller’ star’s children are in good care.

A source previously revealed: 

"Diana absolutely isn’t going to make a move for custody of the children. She only wants what is best for them.

"Diana has tremendous respect for Katherine and all that she has done for the children and told her … when they spoke, that if she needed anything, she stands ready to help in anyway."

Jay Z Announces New Album Titled "Magna Carta Holy Grail"

 

Jay-Z has already sold a million copies of his next album... to Samsung.

"Magna Carta Holy Grail" is the new album from rap icon Jay-Z that will be made available for free to the first one million Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2 owners that download a special app.

The app, which can be downloaded starting on June 24 is said to provide an "unprecedented inside look into the album personal stories and inspiration," and will also unlock the new album on July 4, three days before it officially goes on sale for the non-Galaxy owning world.

The partnership between Samsung and Jay-Z, both known for their rather bold approaches to marketing, was kicked off with a three minute television ad that aired during the NBA Finals on Sunday night.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung paid $5 a piece for the million copies of the album it plans to give away, perhaps making "Magna Carta Holy Grail" the first album to go platinum weeks before being released.

Clearly the huge Korean company sees it as a price worth paying to gain a little extra credibility in the U.S. in its ongoing battle with Apple for mobile market share. And, oh yes, there was another notable competition that followed Samsung's escalation of the smartphone wars: The San Antonio Spurs beat the Miami Heat 114 - 104.

‘I’ll Never Forget Those Things, But I Forgive Him:’ - Kelly Rowland Speaks On Abusive Ex-Boyfriend

 

Kelly Rowland shocked the world when she offered fans a glimpse into her personal life with new track, “Dirty Laundry.” In the song, Rowland unmasks, boldly singing about being in a tumultuous relationship with an abusive ex-boyfriend and harboring feelings of envy towards her friend and former group member, Beyoncé.

The 32-year-old songstress later deemed the song as a form of “therapy.”

“Doing this song for me was so therapeutic. Honesty, like my mama always says, is always the best policy,” Rowland told her audience before performing the popular song during a May concert.

During another performance of the track, the former Destiny’s Child singer had a tearful breakdown on stage. She later confessed that she got “lost” in her emotions as she performed the critically acclaimed song.

“It’s really weird when you take yourself in front of a crowd.  Even in that moment of when I put my feet up, I felt like I was in therapy.  I was singing and talking about what happened, and for a moment, it was like that crowd wasn’t even there.  And then when the music stopped…I was like ‘You are live Kel.  Calm down.’  And I had to calm down, and then I had to breathe.  You get lost…and it’s nothing wrong with getting lost.  But that was weird.  I felt like I could do that with D.C. “

Although Kelly still appears to be emotionally working through those past experiences, she recently admitted during an interview with OMG Insider that she made the choice to forgive her ex-boyfriend for the abuse the her inflicted upon her during their relationship.

“A piece of me would just go away every time he would say something.I’ll never forget those things. I’ll forgive him.”
