NFF releases statement, condoles Stephen Keshi over wife’s death

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has released a statement, condoling with former coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, who has lost his wife, Kate to cancer.
According to reports, Kate died on Wednesday night in the US, after a brief illness.
NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, spoke with Keshi over the phone and sympathized with the former national team skipper.
This is devastating. To lose a spouse is the equivalent of a tragedy. I pray that Almighty God will give you and the children the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” Pinnick told Keshi over the phone.
He also hailed Keshi as a Nigerian hero and prayed that God will give him strength to bear the demise.
Keshi is a Nigerian hero and we mourn deeply with him at this time. This has come like a big blow, but we pray that he receives divine strength to cope with the situation, and we also pray that the Almighty God will grant the departed eternal rest,” Pinnick added.
