Kim Kardashian's Ex, Kris Humphries fails to attend Court Hearing

US reality star Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband have been given another chance to settle their divorce case.

Superior Court Judge Hank Goldberg has set a mandatory settlement conference for April 19 to try and resolve the long-running dispute.

Basketball player Humphries failed to attend a court hearing on Friday about the case, but Kardashian was there surrounded by heavy security.

The reality star filed for divorce in October 2011 after the couple had been married for just 72 days.

Humphries, who plays for the Brooklyn Nets, claims the marriage should be annulled based on fraud but has not yet set out the specifics of his claim.

His ex-wife, who is now pregnant with rapper Kanye West's child, is asking the judge to grant a traditional divorce.

A trial is due to start on May 6 if they cannot settle the case before then, which would set the stage for ugly revelations in court. Cant Wait!

Both sides would be expected to testify at the trial, which would focus on their relationship and whether anything was staged for the TV show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians".

On Friday, the judge also set a hearing for whether Humphries should be fined about his non-appearance at the mandatory settlement talks.

Had the NBA player been in court, it would reportedly have been the first time the pair had seen each other since their split.

The couple married in August 2011 after a whirlwind romance played out largely in front of the cameras.

Their lavish wedding ceremony was filmed and aired as a two-hour special programme.

Kim Kardashian, along with her two sisters, star in a number of reality shows based on their lives as entrepreneurs.

They are the daughters of the late attorney Robert Kardashian - who famously represented OJ Simpson in his 1995 murder trial - and business manager Kris Jenner.

Jenner is married to US Olympic gold medallist Bruce Jenner.

Breaking: Argentina Rejects Invite to Margaret Thatcher's Funeral

There will be no official representative from Argentina attending Baroness Thatcher's funeral tomorrow, it has emerged.

Downing Street announced that Argentinian ambassador Alicia Castro has declined an invitation to attend the event.

However, former US vice president Dick Cheney and ex-secretary of state Henry Kissinger confirmed their attendance.

The two former top US politicians join a growing congregation of former leaders, current politicians, Falklands veterans and a string of celebrities who will pay their respects to the former prime minister tomorrow.

The pair do not form part of Barack Obama's official presidential delegation, which will be led by George Shultz and James Baker, who both served as secretary of states during the Thatcher era.

X Factor 'The World's Biggest Singing Reality TV Show' Comes to Africa

History was made in Africa last weekend when the first ever audition of the world’s biggest TV reality show, X-Factor kicked off on the continent with a big bang.
In Nigeria, the auditions were held at Presidential Hotel, Aba Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State from Saturday April 13, to Sunday, April 14, 2013. Hundreds of enthusiastic youngsters trooped out to fight for wealth and fame on the continent’s largest singing competition platform. The show was brought to Africa for the first time by leading telecommunications company, Globacom. 

As early as 7.30 am, over 200 participants, some of whom kept vigil at the venue to beat the anticipated early morning rush, had gathered at the venue of the auditions. By midday, over 600 participants had registered and had been accredited to participate.

Some of the participants traveled from Delta, Bayelsa, other parts of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Edo states to try their chances of winning the prize money of N24 million and a recording contract with Sony Music international. 

Globacom’s Advertising Manager, Mr. Sulyman Bello, said that the next round of auditions would take place next week in Abuja followed by Kumasi and Accra in Ghana, before the train comes back to Lagos, where the boot camp and the grand finale will take place.

Photo: OGUN Royal Father Stripped Naked, Palace Burnt Down

Oba Akanni of Ado-Odo area of Ogun State was beaten and stripped, and his palace was razed by some aggrieved youths. The monarch, had been having a running battle with some interest groups in the community, who allegedly did not want him despite a Supreme Court judgement validating his appointment three years ago. 

Trouble started for the traditional ruler when his SUV was flagged down by some people in the community. In the course of attending to the people, the unsuspecting monarch was dragged out of his vehicle, beaten and stripped. The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Muyiwa Oladipo, condemned the act and said there were other ways the people could adopt to show their displeasure over the re-installation of the Monarch by the Supreme Court of the land, rather than resorting to burning of houses, beating people and harassing the monarch. 

The Oba was hospitalized after the incident and the palace deserted by both wives and children, to avoid further attacks by the community youths.

Kim Kardashian showed up on April 14 at the 2013 MTV Movies awards looking chic as usual. She  arrived on the red carpet in a short, long-sleeved sleek black dress and black pumps, with a sexy key-likre hole that shows off a little cleavage.

The expectant Kim showed off her 6-month baby bump underneath a little black dress which stopped right above the knee, accentuating her toned legs.

Her black pointy toe pumps were also simple and her long gold necklace went further to accessorize the simple look.

 

Kim’s MTV Movie Awards dress shows she’s finally embracing her pregnant body and dressing for it rather than trying to squeeze into skin tight clothes.

The Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Mr Kehinde Bangbetan was  kidnapped yesterday, in Lagos.

His driver managed to escape being kidnapped too. Details on the circumstances surrounding the incident are sketchy.

Weird Photo: Two-headed Pig Born in China

A two-headed piglet was born in China earlier this week. According to the AFP, it was born on April 10th in a village in Jiujiang.

A local vet told the AFP that the condition was caused by a rare deformity and thus the pig would likely not live very long. However, the animal’s owners agreed not to slaughter it right away.

The condition of having 2 heads is known as polycephaly.

I just found out it can affect all sorts of animals. Actually thought it was just humans.

She my friend, my sister, my confidant... and all you could think of. 

No one understands why I love her this much... Even her humble self!

But to me, friendship is not just about idle gossips, but also about telling each other the bitter truth, and still sticking it out, when things go awry. This and more she's done which makes her stand out!

Okada Rider Rapes & Stabs Mother in front of Kids

A 35-year-old man from the Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Isa Umar has appealed to both the state government and the police to assist him by bringing to justice, a person who allegedly raped his wife.

Umar and the officer in charge of the Legal Aid Council, Zubayr Hanbali made the plea, yesterday, at the secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Bauchi.

In his account of the incident, Umar alleged that he asked a commercial motorcyclist, (okada) whose name was simply given as Auwalu to take his wife and two children to a nearby village, but he diverted into the bush at Ball village in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area and raped the woman in front of her two children aged between three and six years, after stabbing her with a knife.

“My wife lost her pregnancy as a result of the incident and suffered psychological trauma due to shock and the shame. I feel very sad over what happened to her and I intend to see that the person who committed this abominable act does not go unpunished. I felt ashamed of myself because he has spoilt my name and reputation,” Umar lamented.

He said that he took his wife to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital and treated her for over two weeks, adding that the culprit tried to bribe him with N40,000 so as to bury the matter, but he declined and reported the matter to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Bununu.

According to him, the DPO said since Auwalu did not admit commiting the crime, it will be difficult for them to prosecute him, hence he approached the Legal Aid Council for assistance.

Narrating her ordeal to newsmen, the victim, (names withheld) who said she was a mother of four children alleged that the suspect diverted her to the bush instead of taking her to the village she was going to with two of her children and threatened to kill her if she refused to cooperate with him.

“He stabbed me with a knife and beat me. He wrestled with me and overpowered me before he raped me in the presence of my two kids and told me I cannot do anything to him because he would get away with the act,” Mrs Umar added.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Hassan Mohammed Auyo said he was not aware of the incident but promised to investigate the allegation.

Driver Rapes 15yr Old; Blames it on The Devil

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has arrested a driver, Olusegun Ajayi, for allegedly raping a 15-year-old housemaid in Arepo, Ogun State.

The NSCDC authorities said the suspect had carnal knowledge of the girl which caused her to bleed for two days.

Ajayi, however, told PUNCH Metro that his act was not rape since the victim consented. The suspect, who claimed to be a devout Christian, said he did not know the victim prior to the incident.

He said, 

“On Saturday night, I was returning from a party and was about to enter my house when I saw the girl sitting outside. I asked her what she was doing outside late at night but she said she was working in a house not far away from my workplace and was sent to buy sweets by her employer. She said she was locked outside and that she had been knocking for hours but no one came to open the door for her. I then told her to follow me to an uncompleted building on the street. On getting to the building, we saw a mattress there which had been left behind by labourers. I asked her if she could sleep alone there but she said no. So, I went back to my house to get a wrapper and a pillow. Although my wife was not at home, my mother-in-law was around. So, I left her with my children and told her I would not be coming back that night.”

Ajayi, who claimed to be a father of three, said on returning to where the victim was, he laid beside her and began to caress her.

He said the victim did not resist his attempt but requested for money before she would allow him to sleep with her.

“I don’t know what came over me but I found myself touching her and she did not resist. Rather, she said I should pay her N10, 000 for sex and I promised to give it to her the following day. However, a few minutes into the sex, she started bleeding profusely which scared me,” he said.

The indigene of Lagos State said he went back home to get drugs as well as toiletries which he would use to stop the bleeding.

He said when it was daybreak, he set out for work but was summoned back home after which the employees of the victim accused him of rape.

“I was on my way to Iporni in Lagos when my wife called me that people were asking of me at home. When I returned home, residents just started beating me before handing me over to the civil defence,” he said.

In a desperate plea to the civil defence authorities, the suspect said he did not know that the victim was a minor. He added that his predicament was the handiwork of the devil.

“I have three children, including a daughter. I would never have touched that girl if I knew she was 15. I am a devout Christian and I am a responsible man. The devil preyed on my weakness and I promise never to do such again,” he said.

A source at the NSCDC, who craved anonymity, said the victim was taken to hospital and that the bleeding had stopped.

She however added that investigations were ongoing and that medical report would determine what happened.

“We believe that the victim was not only raped but the suspect must have done something to her because she lost so much blood. Once the medical report is out, we will know the next line of action,”

she said.

Balotelli Suspended from 3 Matches for Insulting Official

AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli has been suspended for the next three Serie A games for insulting a match official during the clash against Fiorentina.

The 22-year-old had already picked up a one-match suspension after being shown his fourth yellow of the season in the 2-2 draw.

The forward then insulted one of the referee’s assistants at the end of the game and had his suspension increased.

He will miss the matches against Napoli, Juventus and Catania.

The Italy striker has scored 10 goals in 11 games for club and country in 2013.

David Beckham is confident Paris Saint-Germain have what it takes to end Barcelona’s 20-game unbeaten home record and reach the Champions League semi-finals.

A L’Equipe survey published on Tuesday showed 67% of French football fans feel their country’s last representative in the competition will fall in Spain but, Beckham, 37, believes PSG can become the first team to claim a Champions League win at Barca since Rubin Kazan more than four years ago.

“We have the ability to win the match. We have the players,” the former England captain told beIN Sport. “It’s a battle for 90 minutes every time you play Barcelona. They have a lot of the ball, and it’s always tough to play against teams like that, but we’re capable of going to Barcelona and winning the match.”
