The British and Ghanaian governments have struck a deal to enable foreign criminals to be sent back to Ghana to serve out their sentence, so as to free up space in UK jails.
According to reports, there are currently 96 Ghanaians in British jails, according to figures from September. And of these, 48 are serving sentences longer than four years and would be eligible for transfer.
The British government also said they are determined to remove people who have 'no right' to live in the UK.
