Suspect in Ejigbo LCDA Chairman's Kidnap Case Commits Suicide, to avoid Arrest






One of the abductors of Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, the Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, allegedly jumped to his death at a hotel along Old Ojo road, Agboju, Lagos, as he tried to evade arrest. The Punch newspaper reports that operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, had tracked the suspect identified as ‘Onye Army’ to the hotel and was about to arrest him when he jumped from from the balcony of his room on the second floor to the ground, breaking both legs and his spine, and subsequently dying from his injuries. Meanwhile, the council boss, Bamigbetan was released on Saturday night five days after he was kidnapped.
