Culled from The Sun, UK
THE 7ft Dutchman accused of stabbing to death Brit Sarah Groves in a
drug-crazed frenzy told her boyfriend: “The devil took over my body”.

Richard de Wit, 43 |
Holidaymaker Sarah was knifed more than 25 times with a 12in blade on an
Indian paradise houseboat, cops believe.
Police chiefs have not yet ruled out a sexual motive.
Yesterday, officers said Richard de Wit, 43, had dramatically confessed to
killing Sarah on Saturday.
The giant was then confronted in his cell by her boyfriend Saeed Ahmed Shoda,
25.
Saeed fought back tears as he revealed: “I begged why, why did you kill
her? He brazenly replied: ‘I killed her; that’s it. The devil took over my
body’. He isn’t normal.”

Late Sarah Groves |
Sarah, 24, whose parents, Victor and Kate, live in a manor
house on the Channel Island of Guernsey, was found wrapped in bedding inside
a houseboat cabin on Kashmir’s Lake Dal.
She was staying with Saeed, whose family own the holiday craft, called New
Beauty.
De Wit, who was on a neighbouring boat, denied allegations that Sarah was
sexually attacked — claiming he is impotent, sources said.
But the officer leading the investigation said de Wit admitted killing her
after taking cannabis.
Inspector General of Srinagar Police, Abdul Ghani Mir, said: “This is a
horrible crime. There are 45 injuries on the body, made with a knife and in
different parts of the body.
“No sexual violence has been established. We are still investigating that. The
accused person has confessed to the crime.”

Horror ... houseboat where Sarah Groves died |
Police said de Wit fled barefoot from the boat in the middle of the night
clutching just his passport. He was stopped 50 miles away.
Indian cops are liaising with Sarah’s family and the British High Commission.
Sarah had been due to fly home next week. Instead, arrangements are now being
made to bring her body back to the UK.
Saeed and Sarah — a former pupil at £30,240-a-year St Mary’s School in Ascot,
Berks and Chelsea College of Art and Design — had fallen in love after
meeting in January in the Indian coastal state of Goa.
Saeed said: “She was a perfect girl — I will never forget her.”
A Facebook page set up in Sarah’s memory had thousands of comments by last
night.
Close pal Christina Darmanin, described her as an “angel”.
De Wit will be held for up to 14 days pending a trial. Police have not yet
confirmed a charge.
