Word for Today: 'The Kingdom In Our Hearts'

The Kingdom In Our Hearts · Tuesday, March 5th ·

Pastor Chris

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:20-21).
Pastor Chris
In teaching the disciples how to pray, the Lord Jesus gave them a format; He said "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come…" (Matthew 6:9-10). He taught them to pray in expectation of the coming Kingdom of God because at the time, He hadn’t been crucified and the world was being dominated by another kingdom, which is the kingdom of darkness.
However, after His death, burial, and resurrection, when He met His disciples, His message to them changed. He said, "...All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…" (Matthew 28:18-19). All the authority in the universe is vested in Jesus; and He has given us that authority as representatives of His Kingdom. You’re to manifest His kingdom to the world, for the Kingdom is within you. There’s no need to pray for the Kingdom to come anymore, for that prayer has been answered in us—the new creation.
If you’re born again, you’ve become the carrier of the Kingdom of God. When you get to any place, God’s Kingdom arrives there too, because you’re His living temple (1 Corinthians 3:16). Jesus said in John 14:23, "…If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." This means that for as many of us that love the Master, He has set up His headquarters in our hearts. Glorious truth!
Rise up to your calling as a kingdom-carrier; don’t allow the devil run things around you. You’ve been given the highest authority in the universe, the Name of Jesus, to use in ruling over the devil and negative circumstances. You can put a stop to sickness, war, death, poverty and all the activities of the kingdom of darkness, and super-impose peace, righteousness, love, joy, health and prosperity in your world.
Confession
I carry the divine presence and influence of God everywhere I go, dispelling the forces of darkness and super-imposing the principles of God’s Kingdom in my world. I fulfil the will of God today and dominate my world to His glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
