BREAKING NEWS: CHINUA ACHEBE DIES @ 82


 Chinua Achebe is a Nigerian novelist, poet, professor, and critic. He is best known for his first novel and magnum opus, Things Fall Apart published in 1958, which is the most widely read book in modern African literature. The book sold over 12 million copies and has been translated to over 50 languages worldwide
He was born by Isaiah Okafo Achebe and Janet Anaenechi Iloegbunam Achebe on November 16, 1930 in Ogidi, Anambra State
He studied @ the University of London and University of Ibadan.
He won Awards such as : Man Booker International Prize, Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, St. Louis Literary Award.
He also had award nominations such as: Man Booker Prize, Man Booker International Prize, Neustadt International Prize for Literature
Many of his other novels, including Arrow of God, No Longer at Ease, Anthills of the Savannah, and A man of the People, were equally influential as well.
