2 Bankers Dead in Auto Crash on Abuja Airport Road

Two persons said to be Wema Bank workers yesterday lost their lives in an auto crash near the City Gate along the airport road in Abuja.
An eye witness said  that a Toyota Corolla car, with Lagos registration number LSR 570 AM, lost control and veered off the highway and crashed into a culvert.
According to him, the car had two women, a driver and another man on board the official car when the fatal crash happened. The dead were women.
Confirming the accident, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Rescue Team Leader, Airport Road, Mr. Agah Terhemba, confirmed that the four people involved in the accident were employees of Wema Bank.
Terhemba said, “Commuters alerted us of the accident at City Gate and when we arrived at the spot, two unidentified women who were involved in the accident were already dead. The other passenger, Mr. Garuba Oga, and the driver, Mr. Ade Adeleke, sustained different degrees of fractures.”
The rescue team leader said that the two deceased women had been deposited at the mortuary while the other two had been rushed to Kings Care Hospital in Wuse Zone 4, for treatment.
He said the accident may have been caused by over speeding and cautioned drivers to resist the temptation to drive too fast on the highways to prevent accidents.
