Wizkid Performs For Empty Seats @ Abuja Live Invasion Yesterday [PHOTOS]

Y'all remember the quietly publicized, Wizkid Live Abuja Invasion? Well it held Last Night.

Folks in attendance were stunned with the number of people who showed up at the concert with Wizkid the headliner and guest appearances from label mates Skales, Niyola and Shaydee.

Apparently, the show was meant to kick off at 5pm but was delayed as the auditorium was still empty by 9:30pm. However, he still had to perform! Perform he did! to a near-empty auditorium!
See other photos from an eyewitness who was in attendance.

Well, I'm a huge fan of Wizkid but I've got to do what I've got to do!
Wizkid this morning took to twitter to say:
At the time of the tweet, I didn't understand, now I do!
Sorry Wizzy, we all win some and lose some!

New Video: Lynxxx ft. Banky W - 'African Bad Girl'... As Banky W Trends on Twitter

So I went on twitter and discovered Banky W was on Trends and I wondered "what has he done again?"
Only for me to check it out and realise he was trending for his feature on Lynxxx' latest video! He definitely hits the right notes cos only Stars trend for their feature in another artiste's video.

Lynxxx teams up with Banky W on the video of his single African Bad Girl...
which was shot and directed by Korex Calibur..

Great artistes... Pretty ladies... Good Directing = Dope Video!

Ermm, sad thing is, it seems this is another case of a leaked video, since Neither Lynxxx nor Banky has tweeted the video link.
Anyway, I managed to download and watch it before it was taken down...

Being patriotic Nigerian, I won't put up the link until I'm sure of its authenticity.

Rape Victim Tells Her Heartbreaking True Life Story - How She Was Gang-Raped Twice By 9 Male Friends But Survived!

Rape has become a most troubling menace in our society today! The rate at which rape cases are on the increase is scary, making one wonder if indeed we have a bunch of horny men roaming the streets.
In our staggering economy, one would assume that the foremost thought in a man's brain would be making ends meet and providing adequately for his immediate family at least. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
Gone are the days when men woo women the traditional way and treat them honorably by marrying them before seeking intimacy with them.
Gone are the days when little girls would sit comfortably on the laps of male elders without an ounce of worry in the minds of their mothers.
In our present day, not only has integrity been thrown to the winds, mercy has no place in the hearts of man.
People no longer know the meaning and value of the word 'friend'.
Indeed, according to the bible, The heart of man is desperately wicked, who can know it.

Read below the true life story of a rape victim... She survived... She spoke out... She is Healed!

Very SAD!
Along the line, she was overwhelmed with grief and pleaded to postpone...

It's really disheartening trying to visualize being raped "during your monthly period".
Lord Jesus!! Some men deserve to be castrated!

Say No to Rape! NO means NO.
I implore fellow ladies to be on the guard 24 hours! Never let down your guard! Man can become Beast!

I encourage rape victims to share their story and voice out through the right means... that is only when they would be able to let go of the incident and move on with their lives.
May God help us all.

Strike: ASUU Vows To Fight On... Says: "No-Work-No-Pay Rule Will Not Deter Us"

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared that no amount of threat through the implementation of no-work-no-pay rule applied by the federal government would force its members to suspend their four months old industrial action.

According to a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti State, yesterday by ASUU, Ilorin Zone and signed by its coordinator, Dr. Ayan Adeleke, the union said owners of private universities, who had allegedly been advising President Goodluck Jonathan to whip ASUU into line through no-work-no-pay rule, were doing so for selfish motives.

Adeleke said the threat against his members for their failure to suspend the strike would not deter it from fighting to a logical conclusion.

The body, who lashed out at those advising the president to apply the rule, which he described as ‘barbaric, obsolete and inhuman’, said no amount of pressure would dissuade the union from ensuring that the federal government implemented the agreements reached with the body in 2009.

Adeleke, who is the Chairman of the Ekiti State University chapter of ASUU, expressed displeasure at the federal government’s resort to blackmail to coerce ASUU to back-down on the struggle.
According to him, this would further fan the ember of acrimony between the body and the government.

He urged “people and organisations appealing to ASUU to call off the strike to first appeal to the federal government to implement the agreements freely entered into in 2009. to also prevail.”

The ASUU Chairman said the union was appealing to the President of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Yinka Gbadebo, to dissociate himself from ASUU’s strike.

He said the action was the least expected from a body the academic union was trying to protect.
Adeleke assured that ASUU would thwart the alleged efforts by some leaders and cabals, who are masquerading as proprietors of private universities to stifle the public universities to expand the scope of their business empires.

He said: “ASUU is fighting for the sustenance of the Nigerian universities so that half-baked graduates will not litter the labour market while the society will come back to blame their lecturers.
“We will not succumb to blackmail. We will remain focused and insist that the 2009 agreements be implemented,” he said.

See What Kanye West Did Last Night; Brought a Make-Believe 'Jesus' on Stage

Kanye West kicked off his highly anticipated Yeezus tour at Seattle’s Key Arena on Saturday night with a two-hour-plus show that was as emotionally unsettling as it was awe-inspiring. Kendrick Lamar, the tour’s support act, got things started with a frantic 45-minute set.

The crux of the show was the guest appearance by none other than Jesus Christ himself, for whom West finally removed his mask to proclaim that he had been looking for him. Jesus naturally responded that he had been there all along. Later, the mock Christ would ascend to the top of the mountain as West bowed in supplication before him while the haunting refrain from "On Sight" – "You give us what we need/it may not be what we want" – played repeatedly in the background.

19 Governors Set To Accompany Jonathan To Israel On Pilgrimage

No fewer than 19 state governors, as well as some serving ministers, will on October 22, 2013, (tomorrow) accompany President Goodluck Jonathan on Christian pilgrimage to Israel.

This was disclosed on Saturday by President Jonathan during the flag-off of the 2013 Christian pilgrimage to Israel, Rome and Greece.

Represented by the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator David Mark, the president said the pilgrimage exercise was not a business trip or jamboree, but a spiritual journey, and its importance could not be over-emphasised.

The president noted that it was unfortunate that some people had commercialised the exercise, urging the pilgrims to shun acts capable of bringing the image of the country into disrepute.

He urged them to pray for the genuine transformation of the country, especially as the country was facing both political and spiritual challenges.

"Nigeria needs both political and spiritual transformation. The country is facing a lot challenges, hence this pilgrimage exercise will serve as an intercessory tool for the nation to seek the face of God in this trying moment of our national life."

"Christ is a winner and conqueror! I have no doubt that this exercise would help the nation overcome its current challenges," the president added.

About 30, 000 pilgrims are expected to perform this year’s Christian pilgrimage to Israel.

Tension in House of Reps as Jonathan’s Loyalists Gives Tambuwal Conditions For Peace to Reign

Trouble appears imminent in the House of Representatives, as members get set to resume from vacation tomorrow.
The bone of contention is that the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, must support President Goodluck Jonathan wholeheartedly or be ready to give way for a core loyalist to take over the proceedings of the House.
The Presidency and Tambuwal have not been on the same page since he was accused of romancing with the opposition when he granted audience to the breakaway faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led by Abubakar Baraje, last month.

Although supporters of the President in the House moved against what many saw as ‘an open’ endorsement of the group by the Speaker, there are allegations that a major plot is being hatched to remove Tambuwal from the exalted post.
Worried by the sharp division in the House arising from the Baraje and G7 governors’ visit and the controversy generated, Tambuwal is said to have set up a ‘small peace committee’ to pacify aggrieved members and restore confidence in the leadership.
However, a source close to the peace committee told Vanguard that members had been more divided than before as a result of differences among those loyal to Tambuwal and the President.
It was learnt that when the two groups met to make peace, the pro-Jonathan lawmakers shocked Tambuwal’s loyalists by coming up with three stringent conditions, which the Tambuwal group rejected.
The anti-Tambuwal lawmakers in the House are reported to have asked Tambuwal to allow for an independent auditing of the amount of money so far released to him since he took over as Speaker in 2011.
The pro-Jonathan group also asked Tambuwal to steer clear of the Rivers State House of Assembly crisis and allow the police to re-open the state legislature for business.
The group also demanded that Tambuwal should explain why  members of the 7th Assembly were being paid a paltry N27 million per quarter as against the N45 million that their 6th Assembly counterparts were getting under the Dimeji Bankole leadership.
They argued that they have been cheated by the leadership which reduced their pay when the Federal Government had not reduced the statutory N150 billion being paid to the National Assembly yearly.
However, a staunch supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan in the House of Representatives, Mr Uzo Azubuike, has said that neither the President nor the Speaker is under any impeachment threat.
Azubuike, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Petition, told Vanguard exclusively that the main aim of the President’s loyalists in the House was to strengthen peace and unity as well as ensure that the PDP, which is the majority party, takes its rightful position in major decisions-making.
The Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency Representative said that as people, who believe in the unity and development of Nigeria, they had already floated a group within the PDP members known as “Unity Forum” to work for the advancement of the cause of Nigeria.
Asked if all the PDP members in the House of Representatives were members of the forum, Azuibuike said that at least most of the members of the party were involved in it but did not elaborate.

Pictured: Police Sergeant Brutalises 8yr Old Daughter For Allegedly Being a Witch

A police sergeant from Ibiaku community, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Ita Ayamba, has allegedly brutalised and abandoned his eight-year-old daughter, Goodness Ayamba over her refusal to confess to witchcraft.

Ita was said to have paraded the little girl along the village streets naked, declaring that Goodness was responsible for his retrogression in the Police Force.

The said police sergeant tortured his daughter for several hours in an attempt to extract a confession of being a witch from her.

According to a family member, "When he discovered that Goodness had passed out, Ita abandoned her, having hit her chest with the butt of his AK 47 Rifle.

"None of us could go close to Ita to rescue Goodness as he had threatened to shoot anyone that dared.

"I don’t see how a child of that age could become a clog in the wheel of her father’s progress in the Police Force. We need to tell each other the truth. Progress in one’s career depends on the efforts one has made academically."

It was learnt that Ita had divorced Goodness’ mother some years back. He was said to have remarried almost immediately, leaving three children including Goodness with their grandmother.

A resident of the area, Okon Ekong, said that on July 28, 2013 when the children were on holiday, Ita had requested custody of them. He was said to be at his new station in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at the time.

Ita’s former wife, Mrs. Anietie Ayamba, allegedly heeded his request and took the children to him. Ekong said that the children’s stepmother made life miserable for them.

He said, "It was during their stay in Port Hracourt, that their stepmother took the children to a Pentecostal church. Goodness was accused of witchcraft at the church. Her stepmother was told that Goodness was the person responsible for their father’s non-rising profile in the force.

"The father who was also in the church began to beat and kick Goodness in a bid to extract a confession about her witchcraft."

When Punch Metro visited Immanuel Hospital, Eket, Eket LGA, on Saturday, where Goodness was taken to for medical attention, it was gathered that she had been admitted at the intensive care unit of the children’s ward.

Nurses at the hospital said Goodness’ condition was stable but that her bones and chest cavity had been badly damaged.

A group of women lawyers under the aegis of Federation of International Women Lawyers have said that they would do everything within their power to ensure that Ita was brought to justice.

The state director of the organisation, Mrs. Mary Udonsek, stated that the women would not continue to sit back and allow men maltreat their children on the guise of labelling them witches.

Ita, said to be working at Trans Amadi Police Station, Port Harcourt, Rivers State had allegedly not been to Ibiaku, Mkpat Enin LGA since the incident.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Etim Dickson, said the Rivers State Police Command would be contacted about the matter.
