The Staff Training Centre in Benin, venue of the verification of certificates of Primary School teachers in Edo State, was thrown into amazement, as a teacher at Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Benin City, Mrs Augusta Odemwinge could not read a sworn affidavit she tendered as part of her credentials.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who paid an unscheduled visit to the venue, was one of the witnesses.
He was hugely disappointed at the woman that he said "If you can’t read, what do you teach the pupils, what do you write on the board?"
Oshiomhole had checked some of the teacher’s credentials and documents presented. When it was Mrs. Odemwinge's turn, the Governor who listened to her defence asked her to read the affidavit she presented.
But the woman jittered continuously until the governor helped her out.
The teacher when asked to repeat a sentence she didn't read well answered in pidgin ''make I start am again".and there was an outburst of laughter.
Shocking truth? She has been teaching for 20yrs!.. I wonder what she's been teaching anyway...
